But i had read an article in the Washington post, well before tmag was even on the net. British Transport Police (BTP) has released CCTV images after an attack in front of a mother and small child that left a man with a broken nose.
The attack on the 45-year-old from Wandsworth took place around 0720 on 21 November on a train between Balham and Streatham Common, in south London.
The images show two men police want to speak to in connection with the attack.
Det Con Darren Stenning said: "This was a nasty and unprovoked attack."
'Determined'
The attack left the victim with a broken nose and bruising to the head.
It took place after two men with Irish accents boarded the London Victoria to Tattenham Corner Southern service at Balham, in south London.
"The men started playing with another passenger's child before asking why the victim wasn't also playing," said Det Con Stenning.
"When the victim said it wasn't his child and asked whether the men had permission to play with the boy they became abusive and attacked him."
The men then chased the victim off the train at Streatham Common and continued to punch him before fleeing the station, police said.
"This was a nasty and unprovoked attack which left the victim requiring hospital treatment for his broken nose, which had continued to bleed days after the attack," said Det Con Stenning.
"That this attack took place directly in front of a mother with her small child makes it all the worse and we are determined to catch those responsible," he added.
