Title: RogersAthletics 3 Way Row
Post by: ergo on March 29, 2015, 05:23:42 PM
I love this machine. 3 way refers to hand grip selection. Smoothest Row of this type I have ever used. Maxing out here for a final set of 6 reps. I'm training at my facility and I haven't been on this machine in months and I felt it...

I could not pull this much weight simultaneously. 1 arm allows for a greater resistance to be used when rowing the same as 1 arm laterals. Only a few exercises that 1 arm movement allows for greater resistance in use. Most exercises you are stronger using 2 arms.

True that.

Working each side of the body (arms, back, legs, etc) individually can give a better response to development and strength, for the BB'er or any lifter in general. Also insures a equal balance to both sides of the body, though one side will most always tend to lag a bit behind the other. All this can transfer to  better  strength when using both arms in a lift ..even squats included.  To me, one arm lifts add better total focus on the exercise I'm doing:  one arm DB Hi-pulls, DB side presses, DB lateral raises, DB rows and even one arm DB benches at times. Never much that into machines, exception being the Nautilus equipment.

Athletes tend to focus on this as  part of training. I also find that one arm chins (negative or positive) affect total strength and development quite well. After a while,  plates can be added to the one arm negative chins.

Good luck.

When i use that machine i always do one arm at a time.  Sometimes i'll do both arms together, but i get a better workout using one at a time.

It's funny how much difference the grip placements makes on strength.
