I find these woke comment offensive. She's basically shitting on John Hughes casting. He basically made her whole movie career. Talk about ungrateful.
I grew up with John Hughes movies. They were my childhood along with every other Gen X'er.

Yes her movies should have been 13.8% black, 7% Asian, 19.1% Hispanic and ..007 Eskimo. The guy that made her movies should look at commercials today. 80% of marriages are interracial and 78% of them are a black husband. Wait I forgot to include homos in her movies. No homo.

Molly did not audition for a single one of the three films she's most famous for. John Hughes sat with Molly's head shot picture taped to his typewrite when writing Sixteen Candles and just said get me this girl for the role. No audition.
Anthony Michael Hall and Molly were already cast in the Breakfast Club before auditions even started simply because of their roles in Sixteen Candles. Again, John wrote Pretty in Pink just for Molly, so there was no Audition. My point is she was gifted all three of these parts which made here a movie star. John personally cast these movies and Made Molly's career, which is why I think she's being so ungrateful making these comments.
When I say John Hughes made here career, She had two episodes of Different Strokes and fourteen episodes of the Facts Of Life on her resume when she shot Sixteen Candles and those were small bit parts. Then she's GIVEN the STARING role of a studio movie at the age of 15 with No audition at all. Followed by being given staring roles in two additional movies with no audition.

I’d say they kind of reflected the demographics of the time. Also, the folks most likely to watch the movies. Nothing nefarious going on here, other than her comments.

I attended a high school in West Toronto, and, no exaggeration, the student body was easily 99-percent White.
