Just bought new MuscleMag with Arnold on cover ( no surprise) but what I found weird was an add for gay scorts!!! two muscle guys rubbing upper body, WTF? Is that the new trend in bodybuilding mags? sponsors?? havent been buying BB mags recently so i have to ask.... IS pro BB taking the wrong direction (target)?

I don't keep such stats, but if what hipalito reports is true (I don't read MuscleMag) what more evidence do you need? Private posing and muscle escorting goes hand in hand with pro bodybuilding. It always has and it always will. It used to happen underground and via word of mouth... (the polite word was sponsorship). Then the transactions went to gay magazines... Then to the Internet... And now it is appearing in mainstream BB magazines. Look how many pros are on musclegallery.com.
How anyone around this sport could still be in denial about this is beyond me. ::)

I'm genuinely more concerned about the fact that Arnold is on the cover every 3 months, it's getting fucking disturbing, how often do they put Zane or Oliva on the cover?!?...between the major bodybuilding rags we get Arnold at least 8-12 times a year, it's always a never before seen *uncovered* photo from joe weider's private collection, LOL

Both Christian Boeving and Roland K. have said they were motivated by Arnold's success in bodybuilding and elsewhere. They all want to be like him. All these years later, his image and life story continues to sell magazines. As long as that is true he will continue to get covers. As long as there are wannabes he will continue to get covers. :-\

It's funny how badly musclemag has been slowly dying over the years, when I was getting into bodybuilding and started working out they had a bunch of stores in Toronto (where they are located) including their headquarters which was pretty sizeable, then over the years they slowly started shutting down, about 7-8 years ago they shut down their main store/building (not sure where they moved) Bob Kennedy is slowly going under.

Wrong direction? really? Bodybuilding its filing for bankruptcy as we speak! Both federations and mags! theyre not even doing tests of any type at pro shows to save few $$$ but its not working! the Supp companies have turned every major bodybuilding publication in to an Add booklet , and still future not bright......the new generation of straigh teenagers see BB like a circus sideshow, midget wrestling or trasvestie etc....while muscle bears,schmoes, etc are sponsors who still dont see anything wrong with "the evolution of bodybuilding".
In other words, thats nothing compared with what you'll see in future Bodybuilding mags.

I've watched 3 of my friends turn pro and 2 more about to turn pro, it's not magic, if you live and breathe bodybuilding, take good hg gear and know what you're doing ie. have a good trainer/guru guiding you then almost anyone can do it, I have no interest of being a pro bodybuilder I train weights for general health/conditioning and kickboxing , regardless in your little mind attaining a pro physique is impossible, how do you think they (pro's) do it !?!?! the only delusional person here is you, just because you don't have the drive, motivation or financial resources to stay on year round it doesn't mean others don't.
