UFC 66: Liddell vs. Ortiz (Spoiler)
« on: December 26, 2006, 03:13:29 PM »
I have done my homework.  Seen all of the videos I could.  Listened to all of the talk.  Read most things I could draw up on the web.  Gathered opinions from my MMA friends/fans.............so here I go.................I am suddenly leaning towards tito in this fight.  Never thought I would.  There it is......ps....watch the the Rampage/Lidell fight.

Tito by decision although I wouldn't doubt a 4th or 5th round KO from him.

chuck by ko round 2

he won't try to stand toe to toe with chuck like last time

he'll just try to get him to the ground, he'll fail and eventually get caught

Chack will:

1.  Grab the fence.

2.  Thumb the eye.

3.  Throw an overhand right/left hook/right uppercut combo that will KO Tito.

I want Ortiz to win, but unless Mario will tape Chacks thumbs back, this is ineveitable.

tito has looked pretty ok though last fights, but then he mostly fought chumps so that aint saying much
still, there's some kinda nerve to that fight so it will be worth watching because of the hype, smacktalk etc you dont get that shit in any of the other mma organizations

I want Tito to win but I don't see it happening.  Chuck will thumb em followed by a short flury that stops the fight!

What does the the Rampage fight have to do with the Ortiz/Liddell fight?

Either way I think it will be a great fight. Now that UFC has the contract on Page I am definitely looking forward to the rematch.

tito is afraid of chucks hands, that will prevent him from taking the fight to the ground ... liddell via decision or vicious KO

What does the the Rampage fight have to do with the Ortiz/Liddell fight?

If you watch any fight......you observe behavior/trends/indicators.  How does a fighter react under specific circumstances?  Go right at Chuck & he behaves differently.  Then again who really knows?.....On any given Sunday.................. .........

i like both fighters(well,i liked tito, then hated, liked, hated, like again..sort of)..i do think tito will get ko'd if he goes after chuck like babalu did(he was beggin for it)..as soon as chuck catches tito ,he will instantly follow up with 10 more(and the fight ends the same way the last one did)..if tito gets him to the mat, the fight will end by stoppage(he'll cut chuck with elbow strikes)..i like chuck and hope he wins, but will still be happy for tito if he wins..if so,we got another awesome rubber match

That's pretty much the way I'm calling it. My wife and I were supposed to go away fro a NYE getaway; she stops, looks at me, and says "We can't go.  UFC is Sat. night."

God, I love her... ;D

In boxing they check the gloves and the hand wrap to make sure there isn't any monkey buisness.   In MMA they never check those pads on those fingerless gloves.  How do you know if a guy doesn't have them filled with sand?  One hit with sand filled gloves and it's lights out or a fracture.

They check the gloves; notice on the tape where NSAC is written in NV fights.  Nevada Atate Athletic Comission...

Ive said it before and I'll say it again, Tito learned his lesson the last time, this time  I see Tito resorting back to his old "Lay and Pray" tactics en route to a decision victory, maybe even a TKO stoppage in the later rounds.  The only way I see Chuck winning involves a finger to the eye followed by a flurry of sloppy punches.  If Tito wins this fight Randy Couture said he will come out of retirement to fight him.  Then maybe we can see Chuck/Wandy in Feb. (I doubt it though).

I see CHuck taking it by TKO rd 3.  This will lead to a June showdown with the newly signed Rampage.  GIving Chuck the chance to avenge his loss.  Then finally with nothing left to prove, he will move up and get crushed by Cro Cop.  Got I love the UFC now

yeah,  they just say fuck it and put sacrete in the gloves

chuck wins by KO again, and always will against these ground guys
hopefully rampage has his damn head on straight and gets back to form
that will be a much better fight IMO
two thumbs WAY up!!!

The problem is that Tito will not get him to the ground...Not many can...And if he can't get him to the ground, he can not win...Chuck by KO in the 3rd round...Tito will run from him and then get sloppy and get caught..Although i would like to see the opposite happen...
