bench shirts are the stupidest pieces of gym equipment ever invented.  They allow guys to lift 200-300lbs more than they can without.   Makes no sense.

Why waste a video on this lift.  I'll describe it.  First 5 guys help it off the rack.  He bends his elbow and the bar lowers no more than 3 to 4 inches.  His suit kicks in and his right side barely makes it over the peg to rack .  The bar barely moved 3" if that.  That lift wouldn't have counted in the Special Olympics.  So what does he do, up the weight by 23 pounds and tries that.  To NO ONE's amazement he bombed big time.  But at least the spotters jumped in there allot faster than the guy at the Olympia when he bombed.

Rocket, I thought you said that you will only view these types of videos if you feel you need to rub a few off.  Well, whatever works for you I guess...

I'm not too great on the names of the powerlifters, but I know Scott Mendelson did a 1008 bench sometime this week and some dude named "Tiny" did an official 943lb bench. I should have the pics up by tomorrow. And some chick named Cara broke the womens world record. Weighing just 155lb she did a legal 429lb bench!!!

That Cara chick is kinda cute........had no idea she was just 155lbs.....

She's compact and strong......puts alot of women (and men) to shame.

As long as the aids are standardised then I see no problem with the sport of this but meh, I just didn't really think that was much of a press.  Seemed more like a slightly controlled small negative and then kind of this wonky 2 inch press followed by the huge suprise of the judge flourishing that he'd done a rep.

If you see the video it didn't really look like anybody atall thought it was a rep until the judge said it was.

Actually, Mendelson has the RAW world record of 715 lb. He is without a doubt the strongest bencher who ever lived.

I don't see what's so great about some lardass with a 2" range of motion benching 600. Mike MacDonald did well over 600 RAW at a bodyweight of 242. He almost got 600 in the 220 class, too.

I was at the edge of the stage taking some pics when we heard a "snap" and the spotters pulled the bar off one of the lifters. His wrist snapped during the lift and the stopped for about 15mins....OUCH!

Where was this one at.  I think my friend Paula Suzuki in competiton did something like 435(?) at a bodyweight of around 155.  I know I don;t have the number exact but they are close.
