Wife and I just got back from seeing “Cabrini”…good movie

I have never seen the original.  It just didn't intredast me but that doesn't mean it wasn't great.  Anything new is now almost guaranteed to be woke.

Having watched neither, that is an interesting opinion based on...

You obviously didn't watch through the credits.

ZERO character development throughout the whole movie.   The bar owner was more of a back ground character than the book store girl.  There's a fucking murder in a bar, mystery boat crash, truck crash, etc. and then you have people coming up and asking "are you open".   Seriously???

I wanted to rip my own throat out after watching this steaming pile of shit.  Can't wait for the Pitch Meeting or Honest Trailer guys to roast this.

It was overly retarded. Connor was horrible.

I like Jake Gyllenhaal.  Great actor and was in great shape.
Connor "cokehead" McGregor = annoying douche bag but good for the movie.

It's a fun fight movie, not Lord Of The Rings, sir.

Reminds me of a review for the comedy spy movie Argylle - dude was complaining that it wasnt on par with a James Bond movie.

Never expected it to be Lord of the Rings.  I did, however, expect characters to have some sort of meaning to a story rather than "oh, wait we need someone to do XYZ...lets just write a character in to do that".

1) The "added" bouncer with boxing skills
2) The "cop" ex-boyfriend
3) The pony-tailed bad guy
4) The dad of the book store girl
5) The boat dock guy
6) The stupid croc...really???

Argyle also sucked so much balls.  I painfully watched it on a flight.  Fucking bulking season for Jessica....Sam Rockwell seemed to owe someone a favor....the CGI is getting fucking ridiculous.

Watched half hr so far. Road House isn't a movie that can benefit from a remake like advances in sfx.
It's pointless, fight choreography might be good but for more realism the original is superior, swayze gets beat up on by the goons whereas gyllenhaals wait to be slapped by him.
Why name the restaurant double deuce, they think they are clever and nods to the original, no they are just copying and switching things up as if they are being creative.
It's an OK watch so far but there is really no point.

7) The evil bent Sheriff (who just happened to have the same accent as his daughter the romantic interest even though they'd both spent all their lives at that place who flipped to being good and saying he will 'take care of' the many dead bodies left behind by a world famous celebrity bouncer who the whole island knew about and who left suddenly)

8 ) The invisible evil Dad (who will not now avenge the death of his Son and all this friends, and the loss of the hundred million dollar generational deal - and the yacht for that matter - by just setting fire to the fucking place as they should have done to begin with)

Only half way through.  It's ok so far.  A young black woman owning the a rowdy bar in the keys is more liberal fetish than even close to reality.  Same with the bookstore owner.  It's the Florida keys.  Nothing but crusty white people.  Also is that some they/them bartender?  Gross.

The bad guys were annoying and unimpressive I'll agree. Brad Wesley simply cannot be replicated. Jake was really the best part of the new version. BTW, most of it was shot in the Dominican Republic. Only the aerial 7-mile bridge scene was filmed in Marathon, Florida. The UFC scenes were filmed in Las Vegas.
