Don't really understand why there was a statue of Lenin in Kiev in the first place... Every time I was there people talked about how much they hated Russia. You would think having a statue of Lenin is the opposite of what Ukraine wants post-USSR. That country is fucked, very glad I no longer live there.

When did I say I didn't know the situation? I know WHY they're rioting. I just said I don't understand why they had a statue of Lenin. Every time I've been there no one has stopped to show it to me lol.
I haven't lived there in 16 years (I'm 24), only been back about 3 times for a couple weeks just to see family.

On a broader note, I don't feel "Ukrainian" I never really felt at home there, I'm very happy in Canada and feel 100% Canadian, aside from being born somewhere else. I know this has nothing to do with what you said, but I think it explains why I don't know intricate details, such as why a statue of Lenin is still in a country which hasn't been under USSR rule for over 21 years.
