I am a veteran and my only healthcare (in the US) was though the VA. I once had to drive an hour, in sever chest pain, to a VA clinic, just so that they could transfer me to a civilian ER upon my arrival.

Otherwise, I would have been financially destroyed.

Ever had to make a decision like that, champ?

BTW, at the time, I didn't have other health insurance because I was going to fucking college on the GI Bill after serving in AFG.

Why did all these people study these useless subjects and why did they take loans?

Looks to me they are looking for a bailout on unintelligent decisions...

Some stories evoke more sympathy but that women's studies one...well, not really.

I agree, and I should not say everyone but man, sometimes people need common sense. Before undergraduate I had a choice to attend exensive ass Ivy League Columbia or decent and affordable SUNY-Binghamton, I chose the latter, no debt. Later on worked in Asia and on the side for my Master degrees, never took on debt. People need to be smart about these things and whilst I am sympathetic in some cases I cannot stand the sense of entitlement these folk bring to the table. In your case I have great sympathy since I think the US armed forces are misused, abused and people are exploited in immoral, never ending wars, you certainly deserve better.
