New Ford Bronco
« on: July 13, 2020, 07:06:52 PM »
I think it will do well against Jeep.  The frame looks like it can do some serious off road 4x4.

It will do well, but will be played out quickly if they don’t make the price out of the “cheap” range. Nostalgia will make a lot of folks buy one, as will it’s ability to off road. Hopefully it doesn’t jump the shark and become this generations H2.

It will. The Bronco was an iconic vehicle for Ford, yet they stopped producing them. A two door suv wasn’t practical and still isn’t.

Obviously Ford sees money in bringing it back and it should do well initially but it better be an innovative “new” product, which with Fords track record it likely is not.

Nonsense. They didn't start making minivan engined 4-door Wranglers until 2007 and they sold the hell out of them then and now.

Ford Escape chassis = Fail

Rear leaf springs =fail

Apparently no 2.7eb, 3.5 eb  or 5.0 = fail

Jus the 2.3eb

Jeep is releasing the 6.4 hemi concept on the same day as the bronco is being released

Ok.

The Bronco stopped production in 1997. What was the cause of declining sales and the halt of production?

New vehicles depreciate like crazy.  Huge waste of money.

Yep. I’ll see how well these things hold up and consider one in 5 years.

I haven’t looked, but we’re sales crashing? Maybe a bad design? I know the Excursion was a big seller yet they took that off he market in 2005 or something. Maybe it was a market share thing with the Suburban and they decided to bow out.

Many people here have no foresight to see what is coming.

Forgot about the new car/truck and buy guns, ammo, food, supplies, gold and silver instead.

Honestly I dont know. I remember when they stopped production of the Bronco they blamed poor sales on it being a two door suv.

The Excursion was great but it is a gas hog.

Whats really amazing is we live in the era of everyone wanting self driving electric cars and we have Ford and GM turning their back to that innovation.

I had a '93 OJ Special. Basically it was a short F-150. The worst gas mileage but fun.

The Explorer was far more popular at that point- a small 4x4 available in 2 or 4 doors....er, uh.....LIKE THE NEW BRONCO.  8)

The 2 door Explorer was a great vehicle. I completely forgot about that one being a 2 door.

I wish that was the case with the Lexus RX300 I leased some years ago. The buyout price after 3 years was only 20 % lower than the initial sale price.
