Post by: Ron on September 08, 2008, 06:01:58 PM
Phil Heath thinks that he is going to place second behind Jay Cutler.

Now that is a bold statement!

Phil Heaths picks, as he said on PBW Radio.

1. Jay Cutler
2. Phil Heath
3. Dexter Jackson
4. Dennis Wolf
5. Melvin Anthony

He'd have to bring up that back to be top 2.  Major improvements needed.

We all are assuming that Jay will win the Olympia...

But Phil Heath in second place? That will be a surprise.

Dennis Wolfe looks like he is on the money to rival Jay Cutler this year...

and Dexter Jackson will laugh at Phil Heath's bold statement once he hears that...

Get Dexter on the radio to respond to what Phil said about him beating Dexter!

Cutler's victory is in the mail already.  Not because it's fixed, but because I believe he will shut everybody up this year.

Wolf will be a close second.

Dex is getting old and Heath is the future.  I don't think Dex will be laughing that day.

I don't buy into that "Muscletech buy the Mr Olympia" conspiracy idea and if Jay is not at his all time best then Wolf could topple him. But I know Jay and he will be at his best because he's still very hungry for the title. He's not complacent about it in any way.

Then what do you "buy into" ? Jay was FAR from "THE" best last year and won.

Everyone has different opinions over who should have won last year. Some thought Jay, some thought Victor.
At prejudging I thought Jay was in 2nd but by the finals he'd dried out and won by a very very small margin. But I think he deserved to win. Your mileage may vary.

I saw wolf 2 weeks ago in Germany as I was there shooting a video for Muscular Development and everyone is going to have to bring there A game if they want to beat him this year.

Jay wasn't in the top 3 so saying that "some" thought he was second then coming back with he won by a small margin doesn't IMO make Jay look any better than he really was. Look at the pics and it is clear that he was very smooth. And this BS about him coming back at night is just that BS.

I've been to more shows than I can remember over the past 20 years and I've never been to one where everyone agreed on the results - well maybe the 93 Olympia when a few hardcore fans of individual bodybuilders may have thought their man should have won.

So last year was no different with fans and the press having different opinions over the result. And those opinions can change when people start seeing the photos and making comparisons. You can be at a show and think one thing, then 2 days later start looking at the images and wondering why or how it happened. For me that would include the GNC show when Gunther beat Ronnie. I e-mailed back to the office after pre-judging that Gunther had the show wrapped up. But looking at the photos, to this day I can't see how it happened!

Your opinion is Jay wasn't top 3 and no doubt others have him anywhere from 1st - 17th. At least it gives everyone a chance to discuss it on here and who knows in 16 years time a discussion about that might overtake the "Hulkster I'm Calling For a Truce" thread in total posts.

Vics calves last year, were bad enough for him to lose the Olympia, he had way to much Test prop in them, they were all shiny and red, looked sore as. Hopefully this year he will have tamed them down a bit, make them more ronnie like, i felt they cost him the olympia last year, as he was a lot better than Jay.

If Dennis would be a Weider/Muscletech (Iovate) boy, perhaps things would go to be different... p.e. promotion of the Olympia videos, articles in magazines, radio...

Heath is good but at the moment he's just a lesser Vic. That's it. At the AC, despite what some might think, Dexter had him beat from the start. And it will be the same probably. Cutler will have to show up in better form than last year to top Wolf anf Dex but they'll probably give him his third sandow if he's just decent looking this time (and not the bloated piece of shit we saw last year). Dex will probably nail his conditioning as usual and will be second with Vic out of his way. Wolf will come in third unless he shows some major improvements in the back and calves department. I really don't see how Heath can beat any of these three.

Shhhh, Wolfe has won the Collective hearts and minds. I can't put my finger on it, but Wolfe seems manufactured, a bit odd, especially in the delt region. But i do know one thing, he was in better condition than Jay was last year. Wolfe had striations jumping out and Jay was a smooth as honey.

So excited to see so many people really interested in the out come of this O

Mr. O should have shape , symmetry and size.

6'2 289 pounds with a 30 in waist and Great presentation. with 8 shows where placing in the top five in 2. Winning 2 or 3 and battling it outwith Top names on stage and not on the pages of the internet.

A good representation , knows how to speak clearly and educate people and promote Fitness and Health.

getting a bigger body is not the end all of bodybuilding - Refinement - Is the Key

A few of the Big names have refined and some have distorted their bodies. Ask Branch Warren how long it takes to refine your body back to shape , symmetry once you have blown your body out! Our main stay was midsections and shape ! Well it is back and it is to here to stay. Dennis is appealing  because of his shape - If he has damaged his shape he will be marked down.

The O is about what you do not have!  It is about how it flows together. It is about presentation.
