Murkowski TAPS!!! Joe Miller get the GOP nod in Alaska.

Murkowski Concedes Alaska Primary Race to Tea Party Candidate

In a major upset, Sen. Lisa Murkowski conceded her GOP Senate primary race Tuesday night to Tea Party Express favorite Joe Miller.

Miller, a Fairbanks attorney, led by 1,630 votes after more than 15,000 absentee ballots were counted late Tuesday, a week after the election.

"I don't see a scenario in which the primary will turn out in my favor," Murkowski said in her concession speech.

Miller, who had the backing of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, is now the immediate front-runner in the heavily Republican state.

"Now is the time for all Alaskans to come together and reach out with our core message of taking power from the federal government and bringing it back home to the people. If we continue to allow the federal government to live beyond its means, we will all soon have to live below ours," he said in a statement.

This guy Miller is very impressive.

A veteran, a Yale Law Grad, a judge, etc.

I'm glad the primaries are resulting taking out the dead wood like Murkowski.

And the Libertarians there, according to what I briefly saw on HLN (while at the gym), told Murkowski don't bother pulling a Charlie Crist and try to run as an independent.

Always good to see new faces, particularly those who haven't spent their careers in DC.

From his site - this is who the far left COMMUNISTS are trying to paint as extreme.

More experience than Obama already.

________________________ _________

Joe Miller is an Alaskan by choice. He grew up in a working class family in Kansas, and headed to the Last Frontier sixteen years ago because of his love for the outdoors. After graduating from law school, Miller accepted a position at a prestigious law firm in Anchorage. Just three years later, at the age of 30, he was appointed as a State Magistrate (the youngest then serving in Alaska) as well as a Superior Court Master for the Fourth Judicial District. Further honors followed four years later when Miller was appointed an Acting State District Court Judge and, shortly thereafter, U.S. Magistrate Judge in Fairbanks. Again, he had the distinction of being the youngest then serving in that federal position, not only in the state, but also in the entire nation. He was also the only judge in the United States, at that time, serving at both the federal and state levels simultaneously.

In 2004, Miller stepped down from the bench to run for State Representative. He overwhelmingly won the contested Republican primary and nearly pulled off an upset in the general election receiving over 48% of the vote against the Democratic incumbent in a traditionally Democratic district: the closest re-election campaign the officeholder has ever faced. Joe returned to the successful full time practice of law at his own firm. He has represented clients (including local government as both a part-time employee and on contract) in a wide variety of cases, a number of which have gone all the way to the Alaska Supreme Court.

Prior to becoming an attorney and a judge, Miller served as an officer in the United States Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his leadership in combat during the First Gulf War. He received his commission from West Point, where he graduated with honors. Joe is also a graduate of Yale Law School and holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Alaska.

Joe currently lives with his family in Fairbanks where he practices law. His wife of 18 years, Kathleen, is a teacher and serves on the Alaska Judicial Council, a commission that makes recommendations to the Governor concerning Alaska judicial nominees.

33,

Can you go on record with "Miller 2012"... so when he unravels in 5 minutes (like brown did), we can all have a laugh?

As for Brown I would vote for him over Obama.

The far left, which you seem to have had a nice little romance with over the past years, use this as a paint by numbers formula for anyone who runs against their far left candidates.

Who cares!!! She has her degree now; she's been a mayor, a governor, and NOW is a multi-millionaire. Meanwhile, there are lefties with higher GPAs who are flipping burgers and waiting tables, because they got degrees in mess that makes no money in the real world.

Yep, the big intellectual genius in the White House is hemorrhaging jobs like no tomorrow. And, his party is about to get skinned alive as a result.

Joe Miller: Barack Obama 'bad for America'
Joe Miller accuses Barack Obama of trying to move the nation toward 'socialism.'
CloseBy ANDY BARR | 9/2/10 9:08 AM EDT Updated: 9/2/10 10:04 AM EDT

________________________ ________________________ _

Alaska GOP Senate nominee Joe Miller accused President Barack Obama on Wednesday of trying to move the United States toward “socialism.”

Appearing on CNN’s "John King USA," Miller was asked to describe the president “in a sentence or two.”

“Bad for America,” Miller responded.

Host John King then asked Miller what Obama has done to merit that statement.

“He's one of the major forces moving this country toward socialism,” Miller said. “He's expanding the entitlement state. It is the wrong direction for America. This is a bipartisan problem. But he's at the front of it.

“I think our president has actually put our country down, not advanced it in the standing of the nations,” the Alaska Republican added. “I would suggest to you again, the 'bad for America' is an apt description.”

Miller also criticized Republicans in Washington, questioning whether they have the “courage” to take up tough issues if they win the majority.

“There’s an opportunity to lead this nation out of the crisis it’s in,” Miller said. “The question is whether or not there's the courage within the leadership of that party to seize the moment and to recognize that the only way out of this is to get out of the age of the entitlement state. To return power back to the states, recognize that the central government is broken and see what we can do about fixing things and getting the government focused on those areas, the enumerated powers that it should be doing."

"The Republican Party can do it, but it does require courage because it's not the status quo,” he said.
