Embattled Atlanta Falcon Michael Vick has a friend — and fellow doggie disrespecter — in Stephon Marbury.

"I think we don't say anything about people who shoot deer or shoot other animals," the Knick point guard told Capital News 9, an Albany TV station. "You know, from what I understand, dogfighting is a sport. It's just behind closed doors.

"I think it's tough that we build up Michael Vick and then we break him down."

Vick agreed last week to plead guilty to federal dogfighting and conspiracy charges.

Sanctioned hunting is pretty different from torturing and killing dogs in brutal fashion.

It's like saying killing a rodent is the same as dog fighting. Dogs hold a different place in society than deers. We've been breeding dogs for 100,000 years and they are an important part of our history and culture. Can't say the same for deer.

This starts from High School, really they just focus on the kids athletic ability and nothing else. Few had Grant Hill's type of parental guidance, where there was a focus on education and sports.

NEW YORK (AP) - New York Knicks guard Stephon Marbury backed off his defense of Michael Vick, according to newspaper reports Friday.

"What Michael Vick did was wrong, and he has admitted his guilt," Marbury said in a statement released by the Knicks to New York newspapers. "He should be punished. However, he should be given a second chance, as others have received for more serious crimes."

Marbury had made controversial comments Monday about the federal dogfighting conspiracy charges against Vick while promoting his basketball shoe in Albany.

"I think it's tough," Marbury said, according to Albany TV station Capital News 9. "I think, you know, we don't say anything about people who shoot deer or shoot other animals. You know, from what I hear, dogfighting is a sport. It's just behind closed doors."

Marbury expanded on those comments in the statement.

"There is no list for which animals should be killed and which shouldn't. I love animals and none of them should be harmed However, we don't react the same when other animals are being killed for sport or the sake of human pleasure."

"Man i aint kilt nuttin in bout 2 dang weeks, today im fixin to kill somethin. And im fixin ta do it wit dis here, (pulls up a high powerd rifle), dis here is my weapon of mass destuction". And proceds to Put on all kinds of camos and go shoot deer, in the i guess chest or whatever. Then the kicker. He has his son drag that big Fucker...And they are all picking the head up saying "now aint that beautiful, look at that big ol head. Dis here an 8 point buck" (some shit like that). Im thinkin to myself "these fuckers are sick. "

That's funny. Yeah you should try some deer meat if you get the chance.. It doesnt taste like beef that is for sure... It has a game taste to it.. Hard to describe. Not bad though. I turn my deer into steak hamburger and jerky usually get one roast or so. Mix it with some hamburger and you find your burger goes a lot longer.. It's great in hamburger helper...
