Bodybuilding.com's new headquarters, near the intersection of Cloverdale Road and Chinden Boulevard, is about 100,000 square feet. The building, which Bodybuilding.com bought, is large enough to house both the corporate offices and customer service staff, with room to grow, CEO Ryan DeLuca told the Idaho Statesman.
"It changes things, because we can work together a lot more closely," DeLuca said. "People have been coming up to me and being like, 'Man, I'm seeing all these people I haven't seen for months.'"
BodyBuilding.com has about 700 employees, with about 520 in Boise. The rest work at distribution centers in Pennsylvania and Florida and in Costa Rica, the United Kingdom and Brazil.
"We've just been growing so fast over the past few years," he said.
DeLuca told Inc. magazine in 2007 that BodyBuilding.com was on track for $90 million of sales that year, with 140 employees. Today it has 700 employees and three distribution centers. DeLuca said the company made $400 million in sales last year.
Bodybuilding.com also bought some property near the building, where it has built volleyball and basketball courts.
Employees can push a button to turn their work stations into standing desks, according to a news release announcing a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the headquarters next Friday, Sept. 6.
