As I said, he wasn't off at the Olympia this year and he should just stick with that form.  Unless Jay comes in ON as can be, he won't be able to take out that version of Ronnie.  Instead it looks like Ronnie replicated his 2002 GNC form.  :-\

Ronnie WAS off.  You don't lose the Olympia as the defending champ if you are on.  Jay caught him sleeping and came in with some crazy condition.  The pics of Ronnie from 3-5 days out were impressive.  He was drier than he was onstage.  He is going to have to come in like 2003 to win again.  Once you get that title the judges have a hard time voting for anyone else

yes ronnie was clearly off at the olympia...that was jays only chance of winning and he took advantage of that.

ronnie will be back for the o next year.

He was off, end of story.  His abs were filled with water and so was his back.  His arms and quads are such strong points they take away from the fact that his back was way off, his right lat had something weird going on with it, and from the front he was holding a layer of water.

not taking anything from jay but ronnie was off period.

when ronnie is at his best he is in a class by himself.

just look at his back double bi and rear lat spread these are shots he usually owns.

that may be true in daddywaddy world....but in the real world of competitve bodybuilding if your conditioning is off your gonna get beat...no matter how big your guns are.

Exactly!  His showing TODAY was off.  At the Olympia he simply wasn't as good as he could have been.  But then again, when has he ever been?  He still dialed it in just fine.

Matt...what the hell do you think happened to Ronnie's legs......they  are nothing like they used to be.....

Im gonna agreee wiiiith...Matt C :)

Ronnie wasnt that off guys.He looks awwesome from the front

The whole thing is that he just isnt the same from the back......*THATS ALLL* His lat spread and back double bi killed his chance.Jay is the only guy who beat him in those regards (back shots) Just look at Ronnie next to dexter in the back shots and you will see ronnie taking dexter out.If ronnie got the back , cutler aint got no title, damn straight

That I think is just an issue of him being off and holding excess water.  I think his legs can be recovered.  My concerns are his triceps and back.  I'm not so sure he will be able to recover from them and get them back to his previous best since time isn't on his side.

Honestly, the guy doesn't look healthy to me......I think he pushed his body as far as it can go and now it's pushing back.

Matt C,

you sound a little confused.
First you were adamant the ronnie was not off at the olympia
now you say he "simply wasn't as good as he could have been"

I think you're doing ronnie little justice, in fact you probably sound less
intelligent that he does himself.

Listen , however off ronnie may have been. he takes cutler from front...baaaack is another story , cutler ytakes that no question

Ill tell you whats confusing , people saying ronnie coleman can come into a contest with a torn everything , a distended whatever  and still WIN

And these were pro`s  making those statements
Title: Re: Big Ron says....Th-th-th-that's all folks!
Post by: Rampage on October 06, 2006, 07:00:24 PM
I dont believe coleman can win any of the grand prix`s.He shou;dnt try , cos all the condition in theworld aint gnna hide the fact that his back is subpar now, he just lacks the ferocious back he once had.So i dont think its a question of conditioning.

He needs to go train and get his back to its usual crazy self.Coleman mayy win a GP if cutler isnt competing , cos he cant take the rest out with that subpar back, just not cutler

His conditioning was bad, he didn't look anything like the other guys on stage. IMO he's paying the price for being so fat off-season, his contest weight goes up as it gets progressively harder to diet-down.

The bigger problems, the loss of size in lats and tris, general flatness and worn-out look are symptomatic of age and wear and may not be reversible.

Look guys, I'm a BIG Ronnie fan, but he was OFF. And not just a little.

His front looked tighter than his back, and we all know Ronnie's rear (lats, dbl bi, glutes and hams) is his signature. This year he was OFF from the rear especially, has a torn lat, one triceps is down in size.

Are people just not seeing this or has the Coleman legend (rightfully earned IMHO) outshined the 06 Coleman physique?
