had Ronnie shown up looking like he usually does?
Its hard to say how much Jay has really improved because Ronnie has declined so much.

You just cannot admit it hulk..... That is not Ronnie anymore. You sound like that guy at them gym showing you his old competition pictures. But he is out of shape. Ronnie came in looking like he did. Jay was better. There is nothing more to it. You cannot even congratulate Jay? It has to fall back on Ronnie.
Until Ronnie comes in like his old self he is remembered with his last showing. This is bodybuilding. You are judged in the moment not the past.

yes jay was lucky ronnie was off this year, if ronnie was on. Then its game over for Jay.. What glory is there in beating an off Mr O.. There would be glory in it if Jay beat ronnie when he was 100% on.. Oh Yeh Jay never has done that! Cause ronnie kicks his ass when he's on.. Give ronnie a break he's 43 years old and he's been kickin these young guys asses for 8 years straight..

Exactly........Ronnie was way off and it made Jay look better. Personally I did not see Jay bring anything new this year. I was impressed with Victor though !

Dude while your are at it are you going to whine about Sergio getting beat by Arnold in 1970?
The past doesnt matter now.
This is 2006. Not 1998

Coleman has the best conditioning IMO, but where are those huge lats he is known for? Maybe he isn't spreading his lats all the way in those pics? I'm rooting for Coleman because I don't want to see him go out losing. A guy that dominant in a sport for so long should go out in a blaze of glory not a string of subpar showings.

too late, he is going out losing.

Ronnie is getting fu--! Ronnie is not his best, far from it but it's still better than jay. Anyway, like someone else brought up, Jay beat a waaaay off Ronnie. Do ya think Larry Homes felt the same degree of acheivement when he beat Ali in 80 as frazier felt years ealrier?

IF-IF-IF-IF?-IF?-IF....? IF Dorian had started traing at age 12 (like Coleman), and IF Dorain never had any injuries,
and IF-IF-IF Dorian was able to compete past 35 years old, he would have NEVER LOST TO ANYONE..
IF's dont mean squat. COLEMAN is FINISHED !!!
"YEAH BUDDY !"

What do you guys think of Ronnie staying in shape for the spring shows, cleaning house at that time and winning the ASC and then retiring?
he'll end up more than likely getting beat there by Victor or Dexter, if he shows up looking like he did at the Grand Prix shows that is.
-
Maybe...
But even Ronnie as off as he has been could still beat Victor and Dexter unless they were on as can be and then some. It looks like an on Jay can beat an off Ronnie, but I'm not sure who else can make that claim.
as of right now that is true. I think if Vic really gets his act together he can shock everyone.

its poses like this that make me wonder what all the fuss is about with jay's back.
sure, Ronnie's is practically unspreadable and soft, but Jays is not that great and he is in good shape and uninjured!

excellent post. it should be pinned at the top of the page for all the Jay fans to read 8)

Yes, true, but I think since it took so many years for Jay to do it that it will also take a while yet for Victor to do it. This is expediated by the fact that Ronnie seems to be declining but I still think it's possible Ronnie can take the titles at the grand prix shows in the Spring including the Ironman and Arnold and retire then still a winner. Sure, he wouldn't be Mr. Olympia, but another five pro wins would be no sorry feat! I'm just not so sure Ronnie will be able to beat Jay in 2007 given the circumstances.
But hey, the same stuff was being said about the big man in 2002.
I think I'd like to see Ronnie come back for the o7 Olympia. As long as he doesn't look like shit it would be going out in a blaze of glory.
