i finally got around to checking out the flexonline galleries for the 'O.
they have a full page of prejudging compulsories featuring a bunch of pics of Victor, Dex, Jay and Ronnie.
Looking at EACH pic i cannot for the life of me work out why Dex isnt Mr. O.
He looks better than the other guys in every pose. not just some, but every single pose.
Even his back looks balanced and insanely tapered.
Forget the Ronnie and Jay show, Dex was the best in '06....but then again probably in 04 and 05 as well.

I wouldn't roll my eyes. I can agree with him. If the IFBB judged by their own rules Dex would be Mr. O right now with Vic 2nd.

same reason why shawn ray didnt win.
looks damn near perfect alone, then he stands next to dorian.
dorian stands up straight and spreads his lats in the 'relaxed' pose.

I will never in my life get over Ronnie beating Dex in the ab/thigh call out in the Challenge round debacle of 2004. I was there and have never heard such vociferous booing in my life. Literally.

I have a huge memory of it too, as when they judges gave the score, like many others my friend and I booed, and we had mega-Ronnie fan sitting in front of us who proceeded to try and start a big fight with us, he turned around, f__ked us off, stood up all out of his seat in our faces etc. Bear in mind my friend and I are both don't even weigh 250lbs combined and we have this big beast all in our grill. All the guys behind us stood up for us [which was very nice as they were strangers].
I was quite worried that a big fight would ensue, and I would return to log onto to getbig and see my bloody face beaten to a pulp all over threads. :D

this was a vicious double-standard as dex beat ruhl in that same pose, and ruhl destroyed him in every way.

dex is one of the most overrated guys.
hasnt changed in since 2001.
small with no back and calves.
he's too small. he never will or should win the Olympia.

Dexter was expected to make all types of waves and whatnot prior to the last AC when he took a entire year off to make incredible gains and bring in a "new" Dexter Jackson .. .. .. with insane conditioning and size on him like we'd never seen before.. .. .. or so we were spoon fed for so long.
Then he had some personal issues [I have no idea what they were] and barely made it to the AC, won it, looking absolutely no different than he did 12 months prior!
At this year's Mr. O he was lucky to have placed where he did, as it was the Saurday evening show that got him to his final placing. He looked very ordinary in the pre-judging [by all accounts] and seem to dial it in as the hours ticked by. X-mas came a little early for The Blade. Melvin was much better than him in every facet, simply Marvelous; and you can throw Toney Freeman in their also. Gustavo simply got [another] gift.
As far as I'm concerned, Dexter's had his 15 minutes. Like someone said: throw him among the Big Boyz and Dexter is no different to Monica Brant staring at the Miss. Figure O scoreboard .. .. .. completely lost and dumbfounded!
Stick a fork into him.

Dex got a great physique, just the scale is wrong, 1:10.
Far too small a structure to hang with the big boys, which begs the thought, HOW did Franco & Dickerson win their Sandows? Franco, because he was Arnolds towel boy(and deemed to have paid his dues), and Dickerson surely blew the whole judging panel.
Lots of "smaller" men have had great physiques, and given the shaft, such as Priest, everyone talks of Ray, but there were years when Labrada looked better than him. Brisbois, Padilla, and of course all 4'11" of Flavio.
In that pic, however, the Mr O, is Vic, imo.

TRUE STORY-
getting 4th at the Olympia and heading back to the A is not a good look. His body is MAXED and that is not a bad thing , however if someone is bigger- Melvin , more condition - VIctor or More shape, bigger and condition - XMAN , or Newer face - Phil Heath then we have a huge exciting show and oh yeah - Gustavo - stay home this year.. you are still spending toney freeman's money .... so stay home ...

simple answer. jay and ronnie make him look like a boy standing next to men.
dex lacks the size, condition, muscularity, proportion, freakiness and maturity to be realistically considered mr o material.

Dex needs more leg seperation and some calves, like with preist (whose legs are great)also he needs something other then just stellar arms to set him apart from the others.

There are sprinters and gymnasts looking exactly like Dexter, let Mr O be a bodybuilder

there is no way in hell Ruhl or Ronnie should ever beat Dex in the ab and thigh pose. He lacks calves but his taper, stomach and arms are first class. The only let down is his legs which are still acceptable. atleast he has quad detail. At the Olympia though i think you could have placed Vic, Dex and Melvin in any position from 3-5 and nobody would have argued. I would have loved Melvin to finish 3rd, he was outstanding. Of anyone onstage, he was the biggest surprise and perhaps robbed of atleast 1 place

FAR too much is weighted for size these days. It's ok to be unsymmetrical, wide waisted and unbalanced if you are MASSIVE.
Basically if you dont look too bad, but are a behemoth, you win the 'O. The best of the behemoth's win it.
What a crock IMO.
And the comments about ''too small'', and ''disappears below the waist''. OMG. Alot of you guys say that Flex was the best of all time...well he was alot smaller than the Doz's and Ronnies, plus had obvious implants and flaws that Dex just doesnt have.
Next to the behemoth's, Flex lacked lats, pecs, quads, and was narrow in quad/ab pose. now Dex looks picture perfect in front lat spread, front dbi, quad/abs and holds his own in the other poses....
i guess i can see why now, but just dont agree and it's really starting to push me away from following this ''past-time''/ ''obsession''.

Flex's ab/thigh owns dex to such a great degree that I can't even fathom a reasonable response.

he sure has a crazy ab/thigh pose thats forsure. wow. Chris had potential to be mr. O but had to be heavier with that condition.
