because we're all on this board(although i'm very new), we can assume that we all have an interest in bodybuilding. some may choose to be natural, some may want to load up on drugs. whatever. but the common theme is that we all have a great interest/passion/love for bodybuilding, right?
well, think about this- the "general public" already puts working out down, because they don't understand it, and are just lazy pieces of shit, etc.. so why do we need to put each other down? it's bad enough from the outside world? do you know what i mean?
admittedly, some may not like the "man with the exploding arms", aka- greg valentino. but, he is a bodybuilder. and at one time was a decent middleweight national competitor. why bash him? what he sticks in his arms has nothing to do with anyone else, right? please don't come back with "but the general public gets the wrong idea!" fu*k them! who cares? they never do! never will! do they pay your bills? what the f*ck do you care anyway? be your own GOD!
female bb's. the same thing. why bash them? whatever their motivations, etc... they to are into bodybuilding. or even sasha, as talked about in the recent post. it's not that bodybuilders as a whole are kinky freaky people, but there are a lot of kinky freaky people and SOME just happen to be bodybuilders. if you don't like it. move on. nobody's holding a gun to your head to stand in line and hit her in the seat, right?
bodybuilding is a freak, fringe "activity" with largely homosexual overtones. c'mon, the weiders used to put out gay porn! so what? enjoy what you want and make the most of it. but don't put others down that may not fit into your own pigeonhole, so to speak.
live and let live.
p.s.- i like this place way better than mayhem.

This board isn't politically correct. Don't try to force it to be such.
You are new, just sit back, and take it for what it is. There is much truthiness here.

Why bash others? Because it makes insecure people feel better about themselves. Everyone wants the privilege of looking down on someone else. Whatever they may achieve with their physiques, bodybuilders are basically an insecure lot.
Your reference to “internal oppression” is closer to the truth than you may realize; the venom we see leveled between people here is really a reflection of their own insecurities and baggage. There are people here who never offer mean spirited commentary and those who routinely do . . . I don’t think they can help it; the reality is a lot of guys are (emotionally) damaged goods. Posting here is just one of the ways they act that out.
Venom, You’ve some years under your belt, but not everyone here does. You can’t reasonably expect a 20 year old to exhibit maturity twenty or thirty years ahead of his time. We didn’t do that when we were 20 and it is not reasonable to expect them to do it either.
Today, we can laugh at how silly we were at twenty. Having come this far, we can laugh at today’s 20 year olds too, but it’s not fair to ask them to grow up too fast. Kids will be kids after all and youth is wasted on the young. :'(
Asking the kids here to stop bashing others is like asking them to stop feeling insecure about themselves. It’s not gonna happen.

Are you mental? You are suggesting the board come across in nicer tones right? That's what political correctness is all about.

not even close. part of what i like here is the candidness. i'm just saying, remember why we are all here. because we all have a common interest: bodybuilding.

Well, those of us that actually lift weights do.

I like your post. The message is appealing to those who actually live and love the bodybuilding lifestyle, but trying to set the "Getbig Wolves" (as I call them) straight with your scolding isn't going to do a damn thing. And I sure hope it doesn't! That's because these "insecure" Getbiggers, as immature as they are, make this forum a much more entertaining place to log onto.
I'm 18 years old and although I don't participate in the immature activities, I sure do sit back and laugh my ass off at many of the posts I read everyday. Come on man, what would Getbig be without all the "pwnings" and "m.eltdowns"? I probably wouldn't post here if it were any different.
Anyway, I welcome you to Getbig. You'll come to learn eventually how this place runs.

The "man with the exploding arms", aka- greg valentino hammered yet another nail into the coffin of bodybuilding as viewed by the general public when he blamed his particular unfortunate results solely on steroid abuse.

well, think about this- the "general public" already puts working out down, because they don't understand it, and are just lazy pieces of shit, etc..
What are you talking about, "working out" is $50bil industry...this includes bodybuilding!

He gave his opinion! Don't try to force him not to give it!
For the record, I fully agree with it!

i think you are you own definition of bodybuiliding.
I am a weight lifter, what i am creating is unique, and it sends the message to the others: f**k you, you can't touch this, you can only do better with what you have. But are you crazy, dedicaced enough, to beat what i created? Are you strong enough?
Muscle building is like religion, you hurt yourself, you sacrifice yourself, to find a self control, discipline, to be a better man the others.
Dont care what the other may think; stick to love yourself and what you re doing with your body.
We re alone with ourselves, from the begining to the end.
Even when surrounded, you re alone with your body, he s your best and ultimate friend, and any other individual but your wife and kids are a threat.
The pain is my friend, my body is my mind, at least, i can control MYSELF, i have control over something, while others cant even control their own fucking out of shape body.
Fuck em, kill em, or they ll kill you.
