When he's not babbling about Melvin I enjoy his stories from the old days. But his creepy Melvin obsession has sent him off the deep end.

vince b has got some pretty good ideas (and some crazy ones) and the machines he makes are quite innovative so i suppose i do sometimes listen to what hes got to say, apart from his vince g obsession hes ok, but i just think hes so perplexed about the phenomenen that is goodrum that he collects all this info about him just trying to figure out why triple v is the way he is, i dont think hes realised yet that vince g is just a crazy mofo and theres no figuring him out.

Yes I do. He isn't stupid at all and although I agree his Melvin bashing is a little out of hand sometimes, he contributes interesting things to this board.
He tried to contribute intellectual material and things of that sort, but, then realized later that for the most part people here don't want to read that.

The truth is Goodrum contributes more to this board than I do. Hardly anyone wants to read long, serious stuff. It is infinitely better to get a laugh outta what Venom Vince posts. He is a comic genius for sure.

Where else can you talk to a guy who was awarded last place by the Austrian Oak in a contest as a gag? Or a guy who got dissed by no less then Frank Zane? Then this man proceeds to feud with lunchbucket bodybuilders like Arvilla and Goodrum. Vince Basile is a living legend

I mean, Vince is irreplaceable... a great addition to this (and other) boards, most of the people belittling him are exactly that... replaceable. A computer program could generate most of the posts on these boards.

Repeat, individually in each and every thread till you have 10,000 posts, then run down an experienced iron age bodybuilding enthusiast... sounds like something worthwhile.

The challenge was for a so-called old timer to be one of the lads on Getbig. So I was ridiculed for winning a show way back then. I dropped any mention of past contests and I removed that photo in my avatar. I did what most do here and that is rely on my wit to interact with others. The Goodrum stuff was in jest so I kept it going. I mean, unless you do something over the top it isn't funny. I have no idea why anyone should behave properly just because he is a certain age. If I talk rubbish then I should be blasted like everyone else is when they do that. I have paid my dues and now want to amuse myself. That is why I hang around here. There are some bright guys here masquerading as chumps and that is funny. If Goodrum is hurt by my posts then it no longer is amusing.

vince you just got me with the whole attacking the greatest bodybuilder who ever lived by saying back in my day we called having calves proportions. bullshit, what about quads and shredded hams and glutes. the best back ever with insane conditioning. were cool either way ;)

You young guys are easy to impress. Those of us who have been around aren't so easily led astray. Sure Ronnie is a huge and ripped guy. So what, he still looks awful. I grew up wanting to look like Steve Reeves and Pierre and Yvon Brunet. Those guys still look better than gigantic Coleman.

this is the type of blaspheming spew im talking about. coleman is a massive shredded freak you can look like steve or who ever but dissing ronnie isn't cool, you should bow to him and hope you could ever look as good as one of his glutes. seriously though i would rather look like steve too just times have changed and swimmers( hi adonis) are out.

I agree the beautiful physiques get overpowered when standing beside Coleman and Cutler. No doubt about that. I was looking at videos of Arnold in the old days. Gosh, I remember him as being huge when he did a posing display at my gym. I wondered how he could put any more size on those huge arms. When I look at him posing now he looks small compared to the giants of today. In my gym we have photos of most of the champions on a wall. Reeves still has the best physique even though those photos were taken in the late 1940s. Sergio Oliva still gets respect for the size he had while possessing a small waist.

Ya i think he's actually offering content instead of "meltdown", "owned", etc. I'm glad VB visited Getbig from the sterility of Ironage. He's considered an eccentric here for having an opinion & is a perfect fit.
FYI it's usually the guys who didn't have size who appreciate Reeves, Zane, etc. ;D
