His posing is getting very sloppy.

shoulders way too high, abs crunched down instead of sucked in with ribcage held high, you can barely see his lats...

compare to yates technique which is perfect...

While there is a definite blurring at the vastus medialis/Lateralis its not quite Idrise Ward El.

medialis looks ok to me but the sweep is creeping up his leg more than ever which tends to happen...

Ronnie's left lateralis is definitely torn or partially detached or busted or... When did it happen? I have no idea. That being the case (IMO), his quads are still massive.

Oh yeah the dude still has huge thighs that wasn't my point at all.

However, this nonsense that has hasn't torn some muscles is just insulting to us fans who have 20/20 vision...

his left arm looks at least 3 inches smaller then the right in that first pic, is it photo shopped?

Yate's posing peaked between 1993 and 1995 and was technically very good and played to his strengths.

By 1996 he had developed some very minor bad habits like dropping his head forward on his back poses a bit too much.

The best thing he ever did was change his front realxed stance from crunching his abs down to sucking his abs in and holding his ribs up more to show off his lats instead...

This look didn't suit him... circa 1991

As I have already noted, Ronnie's left quad has been torn for several years.
Just check out pix from before 2003 and you'll easily see the difference.

While i can see the quad is torn my point is that there are no real differences in it from 2005 to 2006. As he won in 2005 how much of a problem is it? The back IMO is the big problem he has.

He had to be, it's a great pose for hiding certain deficiencies he was also king of.  ;)

Awesome thigh development in that latest shot-whatever's "busted" on Coleman's not particularly noticable if it takes that many posts to try to clarify where the problem is.

Yep it's torn they did an article on him and some others (Vic, Gunther etc) who were sporting torn muscles in Muscle Mag in either late 05 or early 06.

It's interesting how his torn quad doesn't really diminish the size or shape of his leg.
That's why I think not too many people have really noticed it or talked about it much.
Not so for some others like Idrise Ward-El, who's quad tear (and biceps tear for that matter!)
is unfortunately VERY noticeable!

4 year old thread posted when there was debate about what was going on with Ronnie's left quad.

Today there is no doubt it is injured beyond repair.

From memory the "he is in better shape" comment was from how Ronnie sharpened up from the 06 Mr O to the grand prix the week later where the pic was taken.

yes but no part of the quad is called "sweep" in biological terms therfore it cant be torn ......

his quad may have been torn or nerve damage etc .... but the sweep is not torn lool..... because his quad is torn this may effect his quad "sweep""

"Sweep" has always referred to Vastus Lateralis development in bodybuilding layman terms same as back "thickness" is really trap III and IV and rhomboid development.
