Title: Guys (and gals), an informal dating poll...
Post by: Dan-O on October 11, 2006, 11:15:48 PM
Say you're seeing a particular someone...  generally how long does it take before you get sick of the same flavor of ice cream?

You mean sick of pounding their ass? Sick of the sound of their whiny voice, sick of their cooking?

Flavor of ice cream ??? God dam it man!

LOL...  sick of being with the same one person, let's say.  Whether you're dating or married or whatever.  When does your eye start to rove and you start to think about what you're missing out on elsewhere?

I think it depends on what you've habituated yourself to. some people look for reasons to stay, others look for reasons to leave.

I read somewhere that scientists came up with this theory that after 2 years humans naturally stop loving each other and if they wish to continue the relationship then they need to fall in love all over again and then the next point is 7 years.....

My average would probably be 3 weeks. I havent met anyone that has inspired more than 9 months of my time...and that turkey was done way before then.

It depends on the individual you're with - some girls I've been with I've never got tired of them and others I can't wait to see the back of them after two weeks!

Good answers guys...  Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for!

Everyone else--how long (if ever) does it take you?  I'd appreciate your honest, candid feedback.

One month usually. The only thing that keeps men around are variables, she could be nice, funny, have a good career, make a good mother, etc. But as far as the sex, after a month most men would probably be sick of the same old pus***.

6-8 months.

I'll stay longer because the problem is me. After that it just depends on how easy they are to get along with.

I'm pretty lazy, on an emotional level, so I'd just get kind of bored with the next one so there's no point in finding another one. A true romantic, LOL!

I will tell you when I am. :)

My wife is my best friend. I enjoy her company. I have no reason to look elsewhere.

We share common interests: Engineering, Movies, Sports, etc.
We like to hangout together.
I can confide in her with out her getting really mad.
She puts up with my crap, I put up with hers.

How would you describe any of your friendships?
She is my friend that suits me the best. This makes her my best friend.

When and if the right one comes along, it can't be explained but you get sick without her.  When you find it, you'll know.  No explanation necessary.

Sounds like you're making the monogomist's mistake.  So what if you want "another flavor"?  It doesn't mean you dislike the original flavor.

Here's the bad news stud: Women are way WAY more poly than men.  They're just more discreet about it.
