does anyone have a real good understanding of Revelations in the bible, and can they relate this to current events?

  Y'know, as a Catholic, and as more time goes on, I have more and more doubts concerning the Rapture. The word "rapture" isn't mentioned once in the Bible; it was a theory made up by some guy in the early 1800's, if I'm not mistaken. I think the apostatsy mentioned in 2 Peter 3 is the end result of people who expected to be raptured in the end-times and then forsake their faith when it doesn't come to pass. Just my two bits.

What matters is that Jesus Christ is coming back and that we must be ready.  It doesn't really matter when or how.
