Its just something i noticed as a fan of bodybuilding when i watch people pose.
A few hints i can offer in which i think some poses can be carried off better in using the right techniques
Maybe i should say the poses look better TO ME when hit certain ways rather than other
1) Ab & Thigh
I feel its better when an athlete clasps his hand behind his head and his biceps are closer to the ears and the elbows point upward rather than when the elbows point toward the judges/crowd(like some pro`s do it).I think it shows off the bi`s better and gives the arm an overall huuge appearance. It make the pose look more robust and powerful. Its just makes the overall pose look menacing and complete ( just as a good pair of calves /hams completes any back pose
This is what i mean(http://www.body-xtreme.de/Wettkampfszene/AC/2002/Images/Martinez.jpg)
2) The lat spread
I like jays cutlers way of pulling this pose off better simply BECAUSE ,in my opinion, it increases the lat width better as opposed to colemans way
Jay : He spreads his layts wayyyy out there , masterfully achieving the width
Ronnie: he kinda spreads his traps out , ya know? he like emphasis it.And trust me his lat spread visual with the trap spread is wicked , but doesnt really spread his lats out more.Im sure he`d be able to get more outta this pose.

Hey im no1 to tell the 8x king or any pro how to do it, im just saying what i observed.I think it adds more value to a pose
(hell i know i could use better picture to illustrate what im saying, but damn im just getting ahold of this posting thing, sorry)
I dont know if u guys agree or not?

in those two pics of jay you can clearly see the difference hes made in his back the past couple of years. the top one being from 2006 and the other one from 2005 i think.
-
i agree fully....ronnies back ismuch wider than any one has ever seen...simply because he does not know how to pose correctly... many pro's have huge flaws like this in their posing. i htink david henry is the worst at posing though.

Posing i suuuuch a huuuge part of the final judgement of your physique
Why speand sooo much time creating this awesome muscle when you cant hit right. It defeats the purpose. Its like sabotaging ya own self
Damn but Levrone could pose! That dude was entertaining and magnificent. What a pleasure to watch him.And you could see he spent alotta time on his posing, you even see it in his videos.Levrone`s stage presence&charisma was brilliant , and his tenacity too.He could fight.Levrone if you readin, man you better take on a protege` and pass down to him your magic.Cos i hope your talents down end with you, that would be a shame
Shawn too was awesome and could hit his poses spot on.For that little man ( i say lil, in BB terms) to hit his lat spread the way he did, was sensational.Reminiscent of a cobra flaring out its...whateva it is
wish i had a picture to show

None of those are from 2006.

None of those are from 2006.
Correct.one is from `05 and i think the other was `04/`03.And i think in 2004 coleman was at his biggest , but i still see jay there just edging him out in the lat stakes.A 2006 cutler pic would show him destroying the king in that shot even further
Note and im a colemen fan...Hey a spade is a spade

the pics are from 2004 and 2003. Jay was way bigger in 2004. A little watery though.
-
Yeah Jay's lats were even wider in 06. He appeared to have high lats in years past but this year he brought them in lower and wider, really came together well.
