Not much point in hiding your IP from legit sites, unless like 240, you fear "the man".

Um, if I did, would I be posting under my real identity?  I live in a country with freedom of speech.  I'm using that freedom of speech to express my opinion that the 911 investigation left many Qs to be answered.

That being said, while the govt does have the ability to track us, IMO much of the google snoopiness is about money and marketing.
