Title: The Arizona Cardinals are a bunch of idiots lol
Post by: body88 on October 16, 2006, 08:51:34 PM
They are controlling the bears all game. Only to blow it in typical Cardinals fashion. Then botch the field goal!!! The bears showed tonight they are not as tough as they are  touted to be imo. They are lucky they have that defense. Grossman melted down big time tonight.

Cardinals fans must be having heart attacks all over the place tonight lol..

Cardinals losing is a blessing in disguise-only with this kind of performance will a real coach eventually be brought in. They have no line, which the coach was supposed to know how to put together instead of wasting big money on a running back at the end of his career.

Aren't you the tool that thinks the CFL is just as good as the NFL? If so get off this thread you've lost your privilege to comment on anything that concerns the NFL.

I wonder what Mora would have said if he were coaching the Colts last year when they lost in the first round of the playoffs at home? I wonder what he would have said about the officiating that tried to give the Colts the game?

Haha Indy has no running game/defense. I was just watching espn and they said the bears made one of the most remarkable comebacks ever ::) Haha the "best" team in the NFL beats some awful team by 1 point and they made a great comeback? Mind you this is after the bears are down 20 all game,no offensive td's and turned the ball over 6 times. The Cardinals handed them that game. They spanked the bears all night long lol. What the hell are these guys on?

Denver is a better team than the bears imo. The bears defense is sick I must admit tho!!!

I always thought Leinart was overrated, but he is proving me wrong so far.

This will probably be remembered as their Joe Pisarcik moment, if losing now results in a better coach and higher drafts later. Greene's been exposed again as a mediocre coach. His decision to bring James in was another blunder: 36 carries for 55 yards, a record.

Gotta admit though body88, to win with the defense and not the offense IMO is more impressive. Grossman had a bad night and everyone knew it was coming. He played bad and got worse. But even if you win ugly in the NFL it's still a win.

I'm glad the Cards lost though. This way they are still in the bottom of the division. ;D

I only saw the highlights in the gym this morning, but it looks like that was a heartbreaker for Arizona.  They could go up or down from this point on.  They might realize that they are better than everyone's been saying they are, or they just might throw in the towel and quit.  Based on Dennis Green's reaction in the post-game press conference, I'd say we haven't seen the last of Arizona.  Leinhart is only going to get better.

As for the Bears, the performance of their defense in the final half is the stuff that championship teams are made of.  They clearly showed that their defense knows how to pick it up and make things happen when the offense is struggling like they did last night.  Only championship-contending teams are able to do what they pulled off last night.

His reaction's more likely due to the fact that this has already happened several times this season, this time at home with a national audience. With the QB situation now resolved the blame resides squarely on him now with no other viable excuses.

I agree. I do think Chicago has a VERY good defense. I also think the bears where handed that game by Arizona more than them forcing turnovers while the cardinals where playing tough. But to the bears credit all great teams have a "bad night " from time to time. Like salsberry (spelling) said this was a wakeup call for the bears and will only strengthen them. I think they where starting to believe there own hype a bit.A win is a win like you said. Congrats to the bears. They have a very complete team when Rex is playing well.

I stick to my statement tho. Denver is a better team than Chicago imo.

I wonder how many overrated LBs have 18 tackles and a forced fumble in a game?  I think he's arguably the best LB in the league behind a healthy Ray Lewis.  I rank Lewis first because he's black . . . .

Singletary was never the best MLB but thanks to the hype he got in the hall earlier than others at least as deserving.

The '85 defense was over-rated in some respects, considering that most weren't hof guys. They usually lost to good passing teams like Miami and SF, which most overlook. Too bad Miami hadn't gotten back in the following year they'd probably have beaten them.  ;D

"Mike Singletary, was a second-round draft pick of the Chicago Bears in the 1981 NFL Draft and the 38th player selected overall. The only college junior to be selected to the All-SWC Team of the 1970s, Singletary earned All-America honors in both his junior and senior years at Baylor, where he averaged 15 tackles per game and established a team record with 232 tackles in 1978.

Singletary became a starter in the Bears lineup in the seventh game of his rookie season. In a game against the Kansas City Chiefs, his third as a starter, Singletary put on a remarkable defensive performance recording 10 tackles and forcing a fumble. A nearly unanimous all-rookie selection, Singletary went on to start 172 games for the Bears during his 12-year career, which is the second most in club history.

An intense player, Mike finished as the Bears’ first or second leading tackler each of his last 11 seasons. He amassed an impressive 1,488 career tackles, 885 of which were solo efforts. A constant force on defense, he missed playing just two games, both in 1986.

In a game against the Denver Broncos in 1990 he had a personal-best performance when he recorded 10 solo tackles and 10 assists. Selected to play in a team record 10 Pro Bowls, Singletary was All-Pro eight times, and All-NFC every year from 1983 until 1991.

The NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1985 and 1988, Mike was the cornerstone of the Bears’ innovative 46-defense. In 1985, he led a Bears’ defense that allowed fewer than 11 points per game, as the team posted an impressive 15-1 record. He had 13 tackles and a sack in the playoffs leading up to the Bears’ 46-10 defeat of the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XX. The Bears’ league-leading defense held the Patriots to a record low seven yards rushing, while the hard-charging Singletary contributed with two fumble recoveries."

They lost to the league's best passing teams but lucked out in playing easy marks in the '85 playoffs. Miami beat them that year as i expected they would, SF won the preceeding playoff playing basically the same defence. Deal with it, they got away without having a great cover defensive backfield because of pressure up front & generally inferior passing teams in the playoffs. The secondary was tough, which fooled superficial fans like you guys who can't tell the difference.  ;)

Of the great defenses, Chicago's was also the least intelligent. Since then, i've never seen guys on the other great defences who remain as pompous decades later either.

If that defence was really as good as hyped, there'd be a lot more hof players on it. Hardly any. hahahaahahahahahahha

Perhaps we just have different opinions?  I saw him play a lot and he was one of the most dominating, intimidating LBs I've ever seen.  I'd put him in the same category with Ronnie Lott, Steve Atwater, and Ray Lewis as players who were/are a huge presence on defense, able to intimidate opponents, and were very productive.

I've never heard a single NFL coach say "Singletary was never the best MLB but thanks to the hype he got in the hall earlier than others at least as deserving."  Or anything similar.

Typical Pumster M.O., resort to throwing insults when someone doesn't agree with your negative base-less crap.

Mike was a great middleline backer who made it to the Hall-of-Fame in his first year of eligibility.  If he made it 20 years later then it might be said he was  over rated.  But you have to be a straight up stud to make it in your first year and he did.

Is this like the time you when on about Tiger Woods being erratic Pumpster?  Or Doug Flutie is a top NFL quarterback thing?

You should join a therapy group.  I'm sure there is one in your town called:  "I keep looking like a dumb jack ass"

I can't get over bettis running him over like the bitch he is ;D

lewis is past his prime and always was overatted as far as all time lb's are concerned

Just based on this post alone I'd NEVER guess you are a steeler's fan   ;D

I Love it. The Cardinals fell apart. It's funny cause alot of people were talking about how the cards were going to be a contender this year..... ::)

Anyways, I can't blame Dennis Green for melting down. He goes out there after a tough loss, and has to answer asinine questions.

The Bears were exposed. I'm not sold on Grossman. Their defense is great. No doubt. I just don't care for all the hype.........

The cards played a tough game. They had Chicago beat on all fronts. They should have won that game. The bears have a great defense. One of the best. But they are vastly overrated as that game showed.

I do not blame Deny one bit. At least he showed some emotion after the loss. He should have been going for the jugular all game. The cards had/have absolutely nothing to lose. If they had been more aggressive they would have been up by alot more than 20.

Ray Lewis is a special player. Not only is he a beast, he has the ability to get his whole defense to raise there game. His emotion is pretty amazing.

he's a criminal and belongs in jail

Shoulda, woulda, coulda, but didn't.  No matter what happened in the first half, good teams find a way to get the W and the Bears did.

As far as comparing the 85 Bears to the crew from 2006, you're all a bunch of idiots.  We're not even halfway into the season yet.  Save your comparisons until the season develops.  It's a marathon, not a sprint.

Anyone remember that wild game Houston and Buffalo years ago where Buffalo came back by like 35 or something in the second half?

I don't know where Lewis stacks up among all-time greats, but he was the most dominant player in the NFL a few years ago.  He anchored one of the best defenses in NFL history.

Earl!! Come one bro. If big Ben was at a bar and that same scenerio happened with Mike Tyson (Ben for whatever reason did not know who he was) Do you think he would go outside and fight him after he found out who he was? This being when Tyson was world Champion of course. Come on!!

Six games is a third  of the season. This team is not even close to as good as the 85 bears. When they play a really good team they will be beat. Don't get me wrong the Bears are very good this year and have a great shot to go to the superbowl. But the team is all defense.Which is not a bad thing unless your offense depends 100 percent on how the qb performs. Old Rex is not the best guy to have to depend on imo. What about the run? If Rex is not playing well they are in deep shit. They got lucky with the defensive td and the Cardinals making huge mistakes. That win came more from the Cardinals melting down and handing them the game than Chicago rising above and finding a way to win. Arizona is absolutely awful by the way. A trully GREAT team  would have smashed them from the get go You will not like what I just typed but it is the truth. Stop believing your own hype. Which is what everyone saw after that game was happening with this bears team. With Grossmans performance if that was the playoffs and the team was not the cardinals you could have kissed your guaranteed super bowl birth bye bye.

The Bears are a very good team. But you all need to relize you can be beaten and will be beaten before the playoffs. Thats a fact. You may very well go to the superbowl. But that is def not guaranteed. Even more so after that performance against the 1 and 4 rookie quarterbacked Cardinals.

Where in my post did I say they were as good as in 85?  In fact I said why bother comparing.  As far as the team being all defense and Rex not being the best guy to depend on, where is the rushing game etc.   I personally believe that they are still adjusting to finally having a guy with the potential and capabilities at QB that they have in Rex.  And as far as poor performances, like Monday, he's only human and he's still young...It happens.  Thankfully it's a Team game and other players were able to pick it up and win the game anyway.

"A trully GREAT team  would have smashed them from the get go"  Would you consider the 72 Dolphins who went undefeated a truely great team?  I would.  And they almost lost a game that season to the lowly Vikings who finished at 7-7 that year...16-14.  So enough with the smashing nonsense.  Truly great teams find a way to win even when they should not period.  and I'm not comparing the Bears to the Dolphins, I'm simply refuting your comment with a fact.

I'm not creating or believing hype.  In fact I'm pleasantly surprised and am still waiting for the losses to come.  Been a long time since we've had a Bear team as good as this one.  I'm appreciating and enjoying the ride as far as it goes, no more no less.

I took that qoute in the wrong manner. I understand what you are saying now.
