Is there such a thing as a unforgivable sin?

As far as I can tell in Christianity the unforgivable sin is to reject Christ all the while you are still alive.

I think it's a process, not a single act.  The Holy Spirit is your conscience.  It tells you right from wrong.  I think you can ignore your conscience to the point where you can no longer hear it.  IMO, that's what happens to people like serial killers.

It's almost like a kid who has convinced himself that a lie is really the truth.  Ozmo I'm sure you've seen it in kids.  One of my kids was telling a whopper once and even started crying trying to defend what she at one point knew was not true.  I think she may have convinced herself that a lie actually became the truth.  I think that is the kind of process that takes place with people who commit the "unforgivable sin."  They don't believe what they're doing is wrong because they continually ignore their conscience, so they don't repent (i.e., confess and turn away).

For all intents and purposes, accepting the Mark of the Beast will be an iredeemable sin.

Jesus said

Matthew 12:31
"And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven."

Revelation 14:9-10
"A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb."

If you're saved, I believe you go to heaven even if you kill yourself.

what about a woman who dies on the table while having an abortion?

If she's saved, she goes to heaven.   Her baby will be there too.

The part in bold makes me wonder if it's the 2 things then that qualify a person for hell.  For instance, someone could have been knocked out, the mark administered to them, they wake up and REFUSE to worship the beast and later get saved.

....Purge and loco, what are your thoughts?

the mark can't be physical Imo,  it has to be something you accept in your heart.

STella,
I believe that person would be saved, unless that person tells somebody "Hey, knock me out and administer the mark so that I'll be off the hook either way."

Maybe...maybe not:

Revelation 13:16-18
"He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666."

Agreed. The Mark has to be accepted, and I believe that it will indeed be a physical object. I subscribe to the idea that the world will fall into a massive recession, and the Antichrist will revive the world economy and propogate a cashless society wherein no-one can "buy or trade" without the Mark. (Revelations 13:17)

killing someone = stealing a womans purse?

No way. Sure, sin cant be quantified but there are levels of sins for sure. Killing or blasphemy will land you in hell, not stealing a woman's purse.

Blasphemy > Stealing a womans purse?

Oh brother, lets stop there..
