just curious out there, just wondering for you experts what do you think is the percentage of juice/drugs, lifting, nutrition and genetics go into building not only a pro physique, but a top npc amateur physique ( since of course they do the juice/drugs as well)
of course we all know there are thousands of guys juicing every day and their not pros, or even top amateurs, so what do you think is the percentage of what goes into building these physiques? howmuch is juice/drugs, knowledge, years of lifting (heavy, correctly, etc.), nutrition, genetics, etc.

100% DRUGS.

genetics are by far the most important factor in bodbuilding.
especially when talking about elite level bodybuilders.
the facts are that no matter how many drugs you take and how hard you work at your training and diet...
if you dont have good genetics you will never look good onstage.
gyms around the world are full of guys who use tons of gear and bust their ass training yet they still look like garbage if they tried to compete.

Agree 100% genetics and work ethic are the key otherwise we could all take gear and be pro bodybuilders.

If it was all drugs, anyone could be a top bodybuilder. Genetics first and formost followed by drugs getting enough calories and amino's through protein and finally the training. Most top pros train like madmen. Go to any top gym when the guys are getting ready for nationals, a pro show or top NPC eliminator and see the intensity that only drugs can bring on. It's hitting the right combo and having the God given genetics to get to the top. Everything must click and if even 1 element is off, that's what separates 1 from 2. This year Jay got all cylinders going off at the right time. Next year, who knows?

50% - drugs
30% - genetics
20% - training
The above is aimed at pros.....amatures train much harder!
-
50% Genetics
50% Drugs
0% Training (Everyone basically trains the same - doesn't matter without above)
0% Natural Supplements (Haha suckas!)

Let me say up front that your question has been repeated many times on many boards, but it is unanswerable, IMO.
Here is, I feel, a better question that you might pose instead:
Of all females that have ever exhibited muscular, striated pecs, triceps, thighs or glutes, how many were doing so while on growth drugs?
Answer?
-
narctious milk cheese
-
drugs, drugs, drugs

You can have the best nutrition and train your ass off and even have the best genetics for bodybuilding but there is no way a national or competive pro bodybuilder can step on stage natural!!
He would be the laughing stock competing as a boy against men!

upsetting but true. now that the bar has been raised, people don't like so see anything lower. that goes for anything, I used to be heavy into bmx freestyle and the doubleback flip done by Dave Mirra was huge! now its no big deal unless you do a doublebackflip no hander to no footer and land into a manual and tailwhip out!! its just gotten redicolous!!!

yes very true.
if you are blessed with genetics
and if everything else is in place
you might look good on stage.
the idea that some guys on here have that pro bodybuilders are just some lazy drug addicts
who depend on massive amounts of steroids to get on stage
is just complete nonsense.

I would actually go more conservative and say:
20% drugs
20% genetics
20% nutrition
20% training
20% quality recuperation (sleep)
If one of these is missing or in unequal amounts then you won't make it. I don't think one is particularly more important than the other.
Think about it - everyone waxes euphoric about drugs but if you take too much or too little then you'll miss out on the benefits of the rest. The same goes for food, training, and sleep.
The only unproven factor is genetics - it's all speculation when people talk about genetics because it can't be measured scientifically (not yet at least with todays technology) so you've got to take people's claims of the importance of genetics with a pinch of salt. So I stand by my reckonning that all the factors are equal.

If steriods dont work and its all based on genetics...then can someone please explain to me why women who are enhanced and juice have better physiques that those who dont juice?
Women dont produce as much testosterone as men yet when they take some male hormone, they build muscle like crazy!
If a man juices, why cant he make the same gains as a female who juices? Explain this to me?
My conclusion is that steriods do work and they work too too well...
My belief is that people arent training hard enough..or in the some cases...some people dont have to because that person's body responds so well to any stimulus...
Some of you say just because some guy juices, it doesnt mean they will get big...yet when females juice, they make even trained "athletes" who are natural look like girly men
Someone please explain....!!!

Yes, female bodybuilders have unintentionally served as the "control group" in this modern bodybuilding experiment.
-
Drugs and nutrition plus genetic response to the aforementioned = 90%
Training = fuck all. You can train like a kitten (Nasser, Flex, etc) and still build a world class physique if the other aforementioned factors are in place.
Sorry to break the scientific facts to you.
true that, i saw monster on juice at my gym with bad workout, all they have to do is pump their muscles with light weight......
-
Guys on the juice still have to train hard and eat well. That was my whole point. you have to have a good mix of everything to make outstanding gains - not just mediocre results.
My former training partner was on as much gear as I was and trained just as hard but I weighed 30lbs more than him becuase I ate right too - he only ate 1400 calories a day and worked a stressful manual job so he couldn't make the gains I was making. I was eating 4000+ calories a day and sat at a desk all day and getting adequate rest so naturally I was going to be better than him. Genetics wise, we had the same body type too so no-one can say you need only drugs to make bodybuilding work. If that were the case then why aren't we all on the Mr Olympia stage?

Agreed, i've seen many. Sometimes I think they don't even like to train. They aren't even pushing themselves. why put drugs into your body??
-
I love it how no one can really seem to answer my question....
-
Yes and I love it how everytime I write something on this board it either gets completely ignored and I kill the thread or someone responds with something so stupid I haven't got the energy to reply.

not sure what your point is...of course is you give a female a few cycles of heavy androgens there is going to be a pretty significant response.
that doesnt mean she can be a top bodybuilder...this thread is about pros and top level npc bodybuilders...and to be a elite bodybuilder you have to be blessed
genetically...male or female...there are very few people in the world who can compete on that level.
-
There are a lot more bodybuilders trying to earn their pro cards but only a few earn the right to be professionals.
Out of the competitors in the NPC events trying to earn their pro cards, how many can claim to be natural?
Fact of the matter is anabolics works so well but in order to be a pro, you have to have a mix of genetic potential, aesthetics, mass, etc....
