wondering which pros are the closest to contest shape, definition, low bodyfat, and still with huge mass year round? i'm guessing the so called "lighter" more aesthetic pros like darrem charles, dexter, richard jones, mark dugdale, etc.
no offense,i'm a huge jay fan, but it seems that guys of his ilk ( the mass monsters, ronnie, ruhl, etc.) for the most part look like overweight football players in baggy clothes for the huge majority of the year, except for perhaps the month or so before and after a competition and of course the competiton itself. of course, i'm sure if jay given a week's time anytime of the year could whip the bodyfat right off and get the definition and get rid of the bloat.
anyway, comments.

Serge Nubret was the last great bodybuilder to have near contest levels of bodyfat year round. No idea why they don`t do it.
-
I would think because dieting down to those levels puts a huge strain on the body. Why kill yourself to that degree if you aren't going to step on stage?
-
Milos Sarcev, Luke Wood, Jay Cutler, Dex Jackson all stay lean.
-
Greg Kovavcs stays lean all year round with the miracle of hydroxycut

You don't consider Munzer great?

There is no strain really.
-
Indeed, it is too easy it atrophy is your goal.
Now let's hear from someone who's been lean for longer than a month.
-
and who isn't as ugly as sin.

Jay can get pretty husky offseason, from some pics i've seen.
-
I know Darrem Charles doesnt get out of shape during off season...
He always looks good during guest posings

ive seen dex a little "fluffy" in the offseason.
i would have to throw darrem charles in there. he is always shredded....

Why do you flyweights think you know something the big boys don't? There is a reason not to stay lean--it's TO GROW. When you are heavier (i.e.-"fatter"), the additional mass and water weigh help cushion your joints, allow you to lift heavier weight, and PUT ON MUSCLE.
Being in contest shape is the most unhealthy state a bber can be in, in case you didn't know.

he said stay in shape...Not contest shape, there is a big difference

like pees in a pie!

Ha Ha Ha. What a delusional post. What do you mean there is no strain. The body is not meant to be -5% BF at all, least of all year round. Try telling Munzers mother that one.
-
My best guess would be Dexter Jackson.
-
Lee Haney always stayed in good shape yearround!
-
From the look of those phil heath guest posing pics he looks really good. And lets not for get Melvin Anthony.
-
Cutler is lean all year round. he usually stays within 20-30 pounds of his contest shape.
-
I never go over about 8% all year. It's really not that hard if you are actually dedicated to the hilt to living the lifestyle. The simple fact is that most people (99% of the people that ever train) do not have the mental strength to stay that lean year round. They won't eat like they have to or do the cardio necessary...and they'll pass it all off with a bullshit excuse of "I have to get fat in the offseason to put on mass"...yeah...sure you do. There is no shame in just admitting you aren't mentally strong enough to maintain a physique of that caliber all year. No shame at all in admitting it.

he died because he OD'd on drugs not because his body fat was low.
-
I've never seen Lee Priest get too heavy off-season. I think he qualifies.
-
not exactly a BBER, but i remember Lex Luger used to brag he was 5% bodyfat all year round and how his Lex system of training enabled him to stay ripped without a problem ha ha ha
-

The Reason he od'd on drugs was trying to keep his bodyfat levels down year round. Read Hotten's book 'Muscle'. Fantastic if scary insight into Munzers demise.

Toney Freeman - Does not believe in "off seasons"
-
show a picture of toney in contest shape and say he doesn't believe in off season, oh brother. it is unhealthy to be at a very low bodyfat year round.
