This was my first squat workout about a month after my last contest in July...hadnt done barbell squats in a about 3 months....worked my up to 465 for 8 reps...wanted to go higher for lower reps but my lower back wasnt use to the weight and was wore out...

Half reps for half the results!
-
Lighten the load there Hutch and go ass to floor.
-
I think we need some video. Lets see the whole movement, assuming we havent already.
-
Precisely. Lower the weight dramatically and go for cleaner, fuller reps. Check your ego at the door. From what I've read of your posts, this will be difficult for you to manage, but hey, you need to realize that you aren't that impressive at all, especially for a juicer.
Next time you upload pics to try to impress people, like you have here, go for full reps and squat some weight that is actually impressive for a juicer.
Holy shit you guys are so quick to think of nothing but the negative aspects...On Barbell squats I go just below parallel and that is all...I do NOT do quarter reps...I do NOT go ass to the floor on barbell squats..I can go ass to the floor on smith squats because it takes a lot of pressure off of my already torn up knees...If you wanna go ass to the floor then great...I didnt post these pics to impress anyone...I post these pics because 99% of the people on here dont have the balls to post pics of themselves much less pics of training...I post pics of my measurements on here because no one else will do it, more than likely cuz they are lying...I talk the TRUTH about my supplementation because no one else will...I dont hide behind anything..You guys should consider it a gift that someone is actually "keeping it real" on here...
I will try and get video even though I hate doing that shit in the gym cuz I look like a dumbass recording myself lifting....ESPECIALLY when I am not impressive AT ALL, right tomr...
-
brutal quarter reps.

the other thing i love is how when a guy posts pics of himself lifting he always adds, "i haven't done (insert lift here) in three years so i'm just breaking back into when you know that they've been doing it every week before the picture.
-
if that is the lower you go, it looks like you train your lower back more than your legs

sure you do, you lie about your arm measurement, your bodyweight, so why wouldn't you lie about that?

does that look like just below parallel..NO...that pic is obviously not at my lowest point..I do lean to far forward though when I squat and it does drain my back a bit....

You saw the post where I actually had a pic of my arm being measured right...was that a trick photo?

Its funny how you choose the worst pic..The first pic obviously shows that I am down lower than the pic you show..still not as low as I go but closer...
-
Monster Lower Back Workout.. your squat regimen is similar to your steriod regimen, ameuterish at best.... Half rep, half results.
All Drugs

And what exactly is my steroid regimen Jae??

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here and say that you need a slightly more experienced photographer. Get one before you post pics again. Posting that kinda crap will only get you ripped on. Hope this helps!
-
haha, If "squatted" like that in my gym I'd get bitch slapped by the owners, If not by my training partner first,
this thread is self ownage, I doubt you could do full reps with 275.
I would like to add you do have a good physique.
-

I was not flaming you Hutch, I think you have a very good physique
that's the only pic I saw were we could see the debt clearly but if you say you go lower, I believe you
-
nothing wrong with half squats! as a bodybuilder you dont actually need to squat all the way down, especially shorter guys because the glutes tend to overdevelop.I personally like to add 100 - 200lbs more for half squats every once in a while,it works great for the lower quads.

I didnt take i take it that way Stavios...Your a good guy, I know you call it like u see it....

I didn't see anybody catch that he claims 465, but there is only 455 on the bar. 4 45's+bar=405, and two 25's adds 50lbs....455. Unless he has a 55lb bar which I highly doubt.
Anyway, 10lbs...what does it matter? ;D

oooppps my bad...455 it is...

The kind that doesnt work
-
Don't hate, appreciate ;D, that is alot of weight, half reps or not. I would guess he does fuller reps with less weight. Hutch, how much could you squat when you were not on roids?

I was in the 160's clean when not getting ready for a contest and I still squated 405 for 6 reps....most I have gone up to now is 5 plates...and no not ass to the floor but parallel...Parallel is how a squat is performed ass to the floor is just a great way to kill your knees and rest your quads at the bottom...
-

Well then I guess I am damn good Natural then....YAAAAYYYYYYYY

Wrong! The real squat is below parallel! everything else is not a full squat.

the powerlifter pic looks too low to me...the drawing one is what I consider parallel...THat looks right to me
-
Dude.......I don't even juice and can do that with 465.... Not very impressive if you CAN go parallel with it then its simple POST A PIC!
Bodybuilding is not "ego" lifting like others have said leave the ego at the door....... ::)

Well why dont you wait until its my leg day and I will post one..a video actually....And when its your leg day you can post one too right....
-
Mr>Hutch as I do feel your point is valid as far as going parallel, just wondering if you go higher reps, lower weight for balls to the floor squats? I have done both and find I get better results from the full squats then I do just parallel. This is not a rip by no means it's just a question, also you have the pins set at a good spot in the power rack is that were you come down too? I do applaud you for showing pictures and taking critique with a grain of salt. Everyone talks a good game until they get in the gym and show what they got. Which looks to me what you are showing. ;D
-
Hutch,
don't sweat the haters bro. Deep squats are great, but they DO tear up knees. Parallel is perfect. Keep working hard!
-
does that look like just below parallel..NO...that pic is obviously not at my lowest point..I do lean to far forward though when I squat and it does drain my back a bit....
put the bar on your traps instead of below and you won't want to lean forward as much, you will kinda have to relearn balance, but the results are better and it feels a lot more comfortable to go low.
-
but like you were saying the lower you go, the more glutes are activated... fuck Jae he is just a internet tough guy... his mommy told him he was special and he believed her :P
-
Looks like you go plenty deep and you're really strong IMO, but have problem with the form.
IMO, you could try to do OL type front squats instead of back squats as the primary leg excersise on every other leg workout, to help you get a more erect posture.
Look at Olympic weightlifters when they do back squats. Perfect execution.
Why? They're used to get real low, their achilles tendons are stretched out as well as their hip extensors.
Do front squats with a olympic lifting grip, go ass to calves on that excersise.
And back off the weight slightly on the squat for awhile, just focusing on nailing the form.
Just some suggestions. Also, ask JPM about his take on it, he knows this shit.

what makes you think he comes even close to depth, zack? there's only one picture that shows him actually moving the weight and it's way high. there isn't even a picture of him with an easier weight all the way down. why the hell would he have his camera man snap a picture when he was that high? if there were 8 reps to the set, the guy should have gotten at least one when he was at decent depth.
hutch has a good physique, but it's obvious he can't use nearly the weight he's trying in those shots.

when i read your 18" arm thread i thought you looked quite good, but were just trying it on,undo the knot in your tape better still throw it away .get a new battery for your scales 188 aint impressive for 5'9 unless your at 2% bf.an although 450 squat is okay it aint enough to impress,an stop biggin yourself up when your good enough people will do it for you, your almost as irritating as alex an that true (NOB)adonis ,an that aint good
