I'm am sure you are kidding. But in case you're not. They made NO money in bodybuilding. Didn't even compete. Yet they were and still are more popular and better known that Jay and Coleman put together. They were markeitng genius's. If only other BB's did what they did to promote themselves. And they have made probably more money than them too. Of course they wasted almost all of it. They had two of the nicest houses in one of the most expensive areas too. Not a medium class house in Texas.
-
They live in California and train in Venice?
-
God damn they were huge.
strong as bulls too.

Yes. I guess Peter sold his house. It was awesome. Davids house is even better I think. It was on the cover of Architectural Digest.

Under the premise, "Always keep'em guessing and your legend never dies" I think the Barbarians played their 'bodybuilding' careers perfectly. If they had competed and done anything except win the Nationals & the Olympia, they would have been considered failures.
The way it is now, people say things like, "Those dudes were huge" or "Those guys were freaks" or "Man, what if they had dieted down and competed?"

Hey Keith,do you have that pic of David's house on architec.. digest or do you know anyone that has it,i guess he built that house too most of it himself.Has everyone seen that video he just made "shattered mirror",he is also singin that song.

What was the world record for the reverse grip then. Also, the twins gave BB more exposure than any IFBB pro ever has beside Arnold. Ronnie was 8 time Mr. Olympia and did nothing to expose BB to the masses compared to them. Not even close. They made more money from BB than anyone except Arnold. They are more recognized around the world than 8 time Mr. Olympia. No matter what, they brought BB to the masses and they didn't even compete. Ronnie was perhaps one of the worst spokesperson for BB ever. There was a reason why the supposedly best built man in the world didn't have many endorsements where he is talking. The twins made big bucks outside of BB for being BB's who didn't compete. I don't what anyone says, but that is awesome and should be commended. They did what they wanted, ate what they wanted and made money doing it. Not a bad life.

Barbarian brothers were the shit! They did a great scene for the movie "NATURAL BORN KILLERS" too bad that the scene didnīt make it to the final version, but itīs on the directors cut dvd.
On that scene they make Robert Down syndroma jr look like the fool he is!

If you saw them today, you wouldn't even recognize them
I don't mean that as a put down, just that their faces don't even look similar to how they looked back then
-
Legends no doubt.
-
What were there workouts like? I know they trained real heavy but were they high volume trainers like most BB'ers were back then?

Well I did train with them here. And they did make me feel good when they told me I was the only ever to be able to keep up with them lifting. Doing the down sets on laterals was just unreal. We would start at 70's I think and go down to the 5's. It was so funny watching big guys barely be able to do reps with 5 lb dumbells. It would have been great to know them back well enough in the mid 80's to train with them when I was the strongest. I knew them from my friend Bob Sears and they used to come into our club all the time but I never hung out with them. They had that Jeep back then. David would come into the club with a gallon of ice cream and eat the whole thing while walking around. Then they would drink the Manhattan Maggies which were 32 oz. margaritas. They would have one in each hand. We had allot of when they cam over. Hilo was the funniest.

Yes high volume. Somewhere around 20 sets. They used to train around the same time I did in the early 80's.
