Especially since i've torn a pec, torn the tendon off my elbow at insertion point, torn meniscus in my knee. i am full of iron battle scars. lol
-
lol
my dad has done things like that, hes torn the insertion point of his right tricep and his leg broke when a car dropped on it so his legs have lost alot of size
-
squats are in my past, i have runners legs now. lol
i can bench 225 for sets of 8 still, thats enough for me.
-
i have difficulty with both of those exercises cause im so tall, 6'4'', but i still give it my best shot.
230 for 12 reps on bench and 300 for 15 on squats (id like to go heavier on squats but ive ran out of plates to add on lol)

Age is only a number! I am in my prime!! except for the back pain, elbow pain, balding grey hair ;D, I actually am in the best shape of my life and over 40. One of my motto's is something is better than nothing so keep pushing the weights.

you old lions got any general advice for a young lion, i bin doing this for a while but im always open to learning from those older than me

Granted, I'm 38 not 48 but I plan on making some major upgrades before drifting into maintenance training. One of the most satisfying things in life is to hit the beach and have a better body than most of the 20 year olds running around and being the only guy that didn't look "bloated" at my high school reunion.

Good to hear your still going strong at 48 yrs. young.Age is only a number.I myself am 39 soon to be 40 yrs. old.Not training for several mnths now (gym closed down) but still following the bb'ing scene to the best of my capabilities(life, familycommitments, etc).Hope to be back to training in the very near future myself.Good for you & keep up the benefits of the training lifestyle.

best adice i could ever give a newbie to the iron is overtraining is the biggest downfall to building a winning body. I cringe evertime i hear a newbie saying ' i can't believe i have to work chest today, its still sore from monday'.
LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!
Training-10% of it
Eating right-45% of it
Rest-45% of it

I graduated high school at 175 pounds, showed up at 10 year reunion at 265 with 33 inch waist, oh the cheerleaders from my past were hitting on me all night. Pity, I had a 21 year old date that night as all my buddies stared at me thinking 'that bastard!'
Another great moment was winning the class at a contest when i was 42, won the over 40 class, the heavyweight open and overall for the contest beating the youngsters althought i was on a lot of gear getting ready for the contest, so were they and i waxed their asses!
