I believe men are worse. Women usually just quietly suffer and as long as there's a couch, a blanket, and Showcase Diva, you normally don't hear a word. They'll eat whatever disaster on a plate is served to them, apologize profusely when you have to make a cup of tea for them, and lie in a haze until better days show up.
Men on the other hand play it for all they can... these are only a few of the things I've heard with my own ears.
M: Juuuuuuice... where's my juuuuuuice? This has PULP in it. I can't drink juice with PULP...
W: But you love the pulp.
M: My throat is sore. It hurts going down. You have to go to the store and get juice with no pulp.
M (on phone): I'm burning up. You need to come home now. This isn't a normal cold. I think I have yellow fever.
W: Maybe it's Meningitis.
M: Oh my god, do you think so? Isn't that fatal?
W: Or, could be flesh eating disease...
M: What if I caught Sars on that stopover in Toronto?
W: That was, like, years ago...
Man over a two hour period:
Can you bring me: chicken soup, ice cream, ginger ale with no ice, raspberry smoothie, tea with honey, kleenex, magazine, another pillow, tylenol, take my temperature, diet coke with ice, chap stick, cough syrup, cherry halls, ipod...

I normally lay on the couch watch tv and shut up. However you'll be lucky to get anything over two syllables out of my mouth. it is usually "uhuh" or nuhuh"

Depends but I think its equale. I like to be left alone and in a cool quite space watching tv and the wife likes to work harder and pretend she's not sick but then get testy with me until I say either lay down and get some rest or crawl down off my back..ahhh love..:)

It's been my experience that men are pretty difficult when they are ill.
I'm like AS though, I want to be left alone.
And as for eating, when I'm really sick I can usually only eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and cookies and those are about the only things my hubby can make anyway.

and although this will get me in trouble (and which is one of the main reasons i've learned not to become ill)

sorry. I only said that because my mother has been complaining of osteoporosis for like 10-15 years and my father died of cancer in 3 months.

That's because you're hangin' with "metrosexuals", no? I've climbed mountains, and the more pain, the more discomfort, the more danger I experience, the more I feel alive.

i went to see my GP today (General Practioner). I had a list with me. I started asking about all the pains in my chest and bereavement counseelling and the menopause >all at once.
I reckon the people who are worse to be with when they are sick are the ones who have noone to tell about it.
We are mostly the same, but my mother talks so slowly and takes like 2 hours to tell me about her hospital appointments. She doesn't get out much. Soon I'm going to have to start taking her to the hopital. She'll last for another 20-30 years.
Usually (In my experience >men get it over and done with quickly. I always knew my old man would walk out like Scott of the Antartic.

i usually lock myself in my room with a bottle of scotch and movies and lotsa cup o noodles....
the only thing i ask of everyone else is
1) dont talk to me
2) dont get me to acknowlodge your presence..
3) if i can see you , you should be further away.
4) dont talk to me
5) leave me alone
6) dont i dont need anything...unless i'm dying i'm perfectly capable of fetching it myself.

8) no..just cause i'm quite and dont wanna be bothered does not mean i love you any less.
9) no i wont need you to follow me to the bathoom and ask every 5 mins if i'm ok in there...i'm just finishing up a really great chapter in my book...scram.. >:(

fever is the body's responce to an intrusion..high fever helps lyce the lil fuckers invading your body...fever is normal..if you lower it (unless it goes beyond 102.5) you r lowering the body's responce to fight the little fuckers.. >:(
i HATE it when folks ask me to take tylenol...i'm grinding my teeth as i type this... >:(

MEn are worse....they are looking for their mommies to talk care of them. My husband actrually whines and just looks so pathetic when he's sick. I play the part though, and rub his feet, put towels on his head, make him soup, you know all the mommie things......hahahah

except he loves you..and wants your attention...cause HE LOVES YOU...so he uses his illness to get some extra...
and you like the fact he acts so helpless...makes ya feel needed...
