This article predicts the collapse of the population of all sea food by 2048. It's probably a bunch of granola scientists pushing an agenda, but alarming nevertheless (note that the National Fisheries Institute disagrees).

The other interesting fact in the article is that average consumption of seafood in 2004 is 16.6 pounds per year.
If I calculate just the two cans of tuna I have each day that's 60 ounces per week, 240 ounces per month, which is 15 pounds per month, nearly the yearly intake of the average person. I suspect that many other people on this site have similar consumption levels which are much higher than the overall population.

i am building a tuna bunker in my back yard... i figure a can will probably last 100 years... so if i start stock pilling now i should be good....

haha, great idea.
It feels a little like the PH ban, when people began stocking up on all that shitty PH and some M1T.
Now it's tuna and seafood. ;D ;D

I hear ya on the tuna bunker. I don't know if I would want to eat a 100 year old can of tuna though. I would rather put a chicken coup in the backyard, so I could have an endless supply of eggs. 12 eggs a day, means I will need 12 chickens to support my GetBig LifeStyle. Plus I it would give something for the dog to chase.
