Well, it's finally over. It's really funny how 20 weeks of training and dieting can go by so quickly. I can hardly believe it's done.
I was thrilled to death to have won my first Open weight class, not to mention a little shocked! I guess we all see ourselves a little differently than we are. I thought that i was in pretty good condition, but didn't really realize how I looked against the other competitors until I saw the photos. In the overall, I just knew that I was getting crushed! As it turned out, I didn't look THAT bad! I looked like I belonged, and that made me very happy.
The other competitors were all cool, and everyone was very helpful to each other backstage. The event was well-run and the guest poser (Branch) was a huge hit with the crowd. He is a really nice guy and was very gracious backstage, taking time to talk to any competitors that wanted some of his time.
I met TA for the first time. This guy is funny as hell, and Jez is a real sweetheart. The interviews were fun and the other guys thought it was nice to have something different backstage. We're used to a bunch of hollow-faced zombies walking around in a trance...instead, we got a bunch of hollow-faced zombies laughing, eating donuts and (in my case) trying to make a few lucid, witty commments for the camera.
Thanks to everyone that gave support and well-wishes, Quincy Roberts for putting on a great show and Adonis for making the Finals a lot of fun.
My last, most important thank-you goes to my training partner. She placed 2nd in Women's Middleweight BBing and 3rd in Figure B class. It was her first competition, and I am so proud of her! She has been a great training partner, motivator and she also happens to be my best friend in this world. I can safely say that without her support, I would not have fared nearly as well. Thanks Kat, you are THE BEST.
And now it's off to breakfast, work and training. Gotta take advantage of this rebound and start the countdown to Bodyrock '08.

I don't think so but congratulations on your open class win. You deserved it.
-
OMG. I just gained a new level of respect for TA.
-
Thanks TA, that's great!
-
TA not being a complete fuck head and asshole ??? I don't believe it :o
Well this proves he can do something worth while for the board, great job so far keep it coming :)
-
great job larry i remember you always had big delts and chest. i see you still got it and then some!
-
Congrats on your win Larry, you looked great and deserved it.
Awesome interview TA, you and Larry seem like good guys. Good stuff!
-
Larry impressed me not only with his physique, but with his charisma. If this guy ever made it Pro, he would go beyond what any Pro is doing today as far as becoming successful with contracts and what not. I firmly believe that.
I will have another treat for you Larry. Your posedown and the MOMENT OF VICTORY on your FACE! You HAVE TO SEE THAT! It is PRICELESS. You couldn`t duplicate this image of emotion that I was able to capture so dramatically. Wait until you see it!
Also for tonight.........I will have Branch Warren`s guest posing for all of you guys!
You will enjoy.
-
awesome... Branch's posing routine should be good.
-
Adonis, great stuff, you should ad Brenda Kelly to do a more hard hitting investigative type reporting?
-
any pics of videos of Branch?
-
Great potential Larry, you`ve got a great structure to build on,and its nice to see someone doing an actual posing routine for a change.Just keep doing what you`re doing and a national title is yours in a couple of years time.
-
That's awfully nice to say, but I think that level of success MIGHT be a little further up the road than that!
-
Well done, Larry, nice presentation. Try to hold your poses for about 3 seconds. The judges can't assess you if you move too quickly. Get into your best poses and hold those longer. Amazing splits there!
-
congrats t-h, looking good. time to jack it up a notch for the cali show next year.

Vince, you can do whatever you want at the night show all the judging except for the overall was already done.
-
Great posing routine! You put on a great show for the crowd, us Getbiggers and now for youtubers! I think you should have held the split pose a bit longer though. The crowd seemed to really like that one and then you exited it right away.
Stay hungry, man!
-
Yeah, it kind of was hurting a little! I had a lot of fun with it, though.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It makes the experience all the better!

Having seen the interview, I have to agree with this statement.
A very personable guy with a marketable look.
Congrats on the win!
-
so does triple-h get blue competitor stars now, since he competed and won?
-
I sure hope so! I've been asking for them for a year! ;D

So many people that compete from here don't get them but then some fake ass wannabe over 40 BBer gets them basically before he even did his first show.
-
Ron, give the man his blue stars!!
