I just picked up the new Musclemag international and I have to say, I am dissapointed with this writer Guy Grundy. He claims to be be a journalist, but unfortantely, he lets his own bias deter him from reporting the entire story. He states in his article that I attack other bodybuilders instead of doing the talking with my body, citing my rifs with Vinny Galanti and Chick. I would like to make two points clear:
1) It was Chick who attacted me and for days calling me a fraud and stated I had not won the North American overall title. Slanderous at least, and even after it was proven factually and through photos, he still has not conceeeded and apologized. It was not untill he srtuck at (with no provocation) me first, that I lashed out, stating that I felt he was diven a gift at the masters champs.
2)The words between Vinny and I were over his constant swagger back and forth over whether he would do the NOC or not. I felt he was making excuses, and I have been proven right, as I have seen proof that in his own words, he never intended to compete in the PDI in the first place. I knew this, I called him on it, and still feel like he weaseled out of a contract.
3) As far as being given a gift of PDI Pro, Guy, maybe you should read the guidelines, and you will see that I clearly qulaify, like it or not. I would think you knew that, since you claim to be such an expert.
In closing Guy Grundy, you should look up the meaning of Journalism, and maybe you should do more reasearch before printing bullshit and half stories that just fit your IFBB agenda. I know you and chick are freinds, but hell, your responsibility to readers dictates that you should have called me to get the entire story. You and I have never even spoke, yet you print things about me, like you know me? I challenge you to find one post, in which I erver took an offensive posture and started any attack on anyone. I always am attacked first, then go into defensive posture. I don't look for fights Guy, but I do finish them, and If someone is going to attack, they better be ready to take shots back.

I am sure you will not argue with this. Your EXTREMELY poor showing at the PDI displayed a body that is NO where near Pro level.You should not have been on stage in a Pro show looking like. Bob Gruskin, who heads NAABA, said that Rhino won the overall on Mar 30, 1996 - the NAABA N. Americans. There are pics which prove this, and the word of Ant DeAngelis, who lost to Rhino that night. Rhino competed at the World Championships in 97, taking 3rd, after qualifying at the 96 show.

I'm sorry Rhino, but he is right. Your performance was not good at the NOC and it was local level to say the least. The fact that you finished 8th at a Master's regional event should speak volumes.
Grundy however was a little over the top however but the truth hurts. If I were you, Rhino I would take it to heart as I've done my previous event as a can of gasoline to ignite your workouts and come back stronger

Jack decided to stick his nose in my business long before I ever questioned his title...he likes to fancy himself to be "in the know" about IFBB/ NPC business.

Debating is fine, we all love to see the sparks fly.
But lying is something else. We have the word of the federation president, a fellow competitor, show pics with trophies and banners, and jack doing the pro show the next year, which he couldn't have done without qualifying.
Unless chic has some proof, he's just making stuff up. For the IFBB Athletes rep to be "making stuff up" is horrible on so many levels. Just don't do it, Chic. Attack and argue using legit points, not lies.

I just picked up the new Musclemag international and I have to say, I am dissapointed with this writer Guy Grundy. He claims to be be a journalist, but unfortantely, he lets his own bias deter him from reporting the entire story. He states in his article that I attack other bodybuilders instead of doing the talking with my body, citing my rifs with Vinny Galanti and Chick. I would like to make two points clear:
1) It was Chick who attacted me and for days calling me a fraud and stated I had not won the North American overall title. Slanderous at least, and even after it was proven factually and through photos, he still has not conceeeded and apologized. It was not untill he srtuck at (with no provocation) me first, that I lashed out, stating that I felt he was diven a gift at the masters champs.
2)The words between Vinny and I were over his constant swagger back and forth over whether he would do the NOC or not. I felt he was making excuses, and I have been proven right, as I have seen proof that in his own words, he never intended to compete in the PDI in the first place. I knew this, I called him on it, and still feel like he weaseled out of a contract.
3) As far as being given a gift of PDI Pro, Guy, maybe you should read the guidelines, and you will see that I clearly qulaify, like it or not. I would think you knew that, since you claim to be such an expert.
In closing Guy Grundy, you should look up the meaning of Journalism, and maybe you should do more reasearch before printing bullshit and half stories that just fit your IFBB agenda. I know you and chick are freinds, but hell, your responsibility to readers dictates that you should have called me to get the entire story. You and I have never even spoke, yet you print things about me, like you know me? I challenge you to find one post, in which I erver took an offensive posture and started any attack on anyone. I always am attacked first, then go into defensive posture. I don't look for fights Guy, but I do finish them, and If someone is going to attack, they better be ready to take shots back.

I worked in the securities division @ General Electric.
I now work in the Technology Finance Group. I run the northeast territory, working with manufacturers like Cisco, Tech Data, Microsoft, and such. We finance Coputer hardware/software/severs and the like. I deal with about $20 million dollars a year.

You are a representative of the sport in a far greater manner than Jack is at the moment and in my opinion, you could have handled it differently when he made his threat.

I have nothing personal against you, however, really feel that in order for the sport to advance, (if you even want to call it that) to make public physical threats does nothing to help anything. The integrity of bodybuilding is always going to be called into question since it is based mainly on male beauty pageants, however, to have recognized individuals in the sport speaking like they do on here, IMO doesn't help anything.

You are a highly educated (Wharton MBA, I understand) and successful, well-paid business executive at Citigroup. In the real world, you are a HUGE success. It is demnaing to the feforts of people like Chris Cook etc that worked for many years towards that goal. He makes the sport look bad calling him self a Pro. People look at him and you want them thinking this is what a professional bodybuilder looks like. He is an older man with some muscle. That is pretty much what it is. He brought it on stage and I said my thoughts. As Jack has mentioned countless times he is a Banker and does the sport for enjoyment not his living. He should continue Bodybuilding where he belongs and that is in the masters NPC. Take care

I'm from the old school where only the guys who won the "australia" ie. the npc/ifbb australian titles had the balls to call themselves Mr Australia the way Guy does every day... legends like mick scionti, pete wall, tony rossi, adrian batho can call themselves mr A not guy i'm afraid.

Actually its the homophobia that makes it a horrible, unprofitable and stagnant industry. If they would let a gays (not the closeted types like you know who) into the industry you can bet it would become a hell of lot more successful, creative and interesting industry.
