Ohhhhh, so I should do the INCLINE BENCHING first? Flex has been confusing me for 20 years!
In June, 1987, hair-club-for-men client GARY STRYDOM said the same thing in the same pages of Flex.
But then in Flex May 1988, treading-water specialist PHIL HILL said to pre-exhaust the triceps so the chest does all the work.
In Flex October 1989, gender-bender-renter SHAWN RAY again told us to train upper chest first.
But in Flex April 1990, addiction specialist MIKE CHRISTIAN restated the Weider pre-exhaust principle ad nauseum.
In Flex January 1991, I learned from diet expert VINCE TAYLOR in January 1992 to definitely do incline benching first.
But in Flex December 1992, sculptor model ROBBIE ROBINSON told me I was an idiot if I ignored my Weider Pre-exhaust principles.
In Flex September 1993, kidney donor FLEX WHEELER strongly advocated starting with the incline presses.
But in Flex February 1994, Oscar and Grammy winner KEVIN LEVRONE advised against that and said to start with cable crossovers!
Then in Flex July 1995, diuretic expert ANDREAS MUNZER brought us back to reality and said he always does incline benching first.
In Flex August 1996, choreoghapher PAUL DILLETT stated that his chest grows if he just thinks about training it.
But in Flex April 1997, no less than beatdown victim DORIAN YATES said he trains upper chest first.
Then in Flex December 1998, 13-time Jeopardy champion NASSER EL SONBATY said to pre-exhaust the triceps again!
But then in Flex October 1999, college valedictorian RONNIE COLEMAN told me to start with inclines.
In Flex June 2000, human rights activist CRAIG TITUS said his chest grew 3 inches in 1 month using Weider's Pre-Exhaust principle.
Then in Flex March 2001, loan consultant MILOS SARCEV emphasized training upper chest before cankles.
But in Flex May 2002, legal analyst KING KAMALI said he got his big chest from Weider training principles alone.
In Flex November 2003, advice columnist LEE PRIEST said pizza and donuts make his chest grow.
Then in Flex August 2004, gym franchisor VICTOR MARTINEZ again said to do incline presses first.
But in Flex October 2005, lactation consultant ART ATWOOD told me to warm up with 1000 pushups.
Finally, in Flex July 2006, cranial proctologist BOB CICHERILLO warned me about doing tricpes before chest.
Thanks FLEX MAGAZINE for the clear and consistent advice you've offered through the years!

Those aren't exactly off-season shots. I took those photos 1 1/2 weeks ago, when Lionel guest posed at the Border States show. Lionel was 2 weeks out from the Nationals, which are being held this weekend.
