Was Big Jerome robbed at the USAS and Nationals this year? He was the heavy favourite for the Overall heading into both shows but took a hugely disappointing 5th on both occasions in the SuperHeavies...is he losing it? He said he would retire if he failed to win an IFBB Pro Card this time round...well, I feel his shape, structure and mass should win him his Pro status within the next 2 years. That is IF he sticks around.

Yes but funny thing is that Evan's only 24/25 whereas Jerome's an old cat (38) with all those years of training (2 decades) and so quickly the kid has surpassed him! Just freakin' blown by him and consigned the old warrior to the rubbish heap. Why? Jerome has the mass & structure to succeed...plus great aesthetics, proportions, small waist.

Hey, genetics can take you far at a young age. Shawn Ray turned pro at 21. Lee Haney was Mr. O at 24.

He should just go the PDI route, he would be the 2nd best guy there behind Lee.

then he gets 2nd at a pdi event, the pdi goes under and now the ifbb blackballs him a la the wbf athletes. yeah that makes sense.

Agreed - he should make his money while he can and go the PDI route - he looks like a decent bodybuilder but that physique won't amount to anything in the IFBB.

Many of the rookies this year have pretty outstanding structures and he just wouldn't fit in....

I think Bob Chick would shit his pants if Jerome went PDI. Would be the smart decision though.

Great taper, but doesnt stand out as a pro yet, not sharp enough, lagging b/parts.
Maybe his training partner, friends and family told him it was in the bag, and he believed them, hence his disappointment at placing.
Hey, Wheeler smashed many runner-up trophies before he made serious damage. Then, of course, theres guys who take 20 years to turn pro, and by the time they do it, they qualify for the Masters...

Jerome nailed it from the back this year. Unfortunately, he had to turn around & he didn't nail it from the front. You can't bring your B+ body to the Nats & win (unless you've threatened to pull out of the industry & have already appeared on a dozen or more covers in the last few years--I won't mention any names :) ).

I really hope Jerome sticks with it. He's the sort of fellow that would be really good for the IFBB. He has a tremendous personality, he has great enthusiasm for the sport, and the guys works. Pulling for ya bro!
