"You truly are the Judgment Free Zone. I never hear the body builders grunting and groaning, or weights slamming around... It's also great to see people in wheel chairs or with disabilities getting in on the machines just as easily as everyone else. Everyone is equal!"
-
people in wheelchairs have as much right to the equipment as you, you're probably the type of guy who tries to intimidate all the 98lb. fitness girls by benching the 55's and then dropping them on the floor. ::)

Who said they didn't you little meathead?
-
is it true they installed special urinals where all the faggy members can wash their pussys?

This is a test. Every other major gym will be watching the bottom line. If it's a Planet Fitness that people want than don't be supprised to see many other so called hard core gyms become more and more going in the planet's direction. We can only hope it fails miserably and comes back to bite them in the ass. If I see a fitness ball or palliates (sp) class, than it's not my gym anymore.

this coming from a guy who can't wait for the next bodybuilding show so he can throw on his 3XL football jersey and go hold hands with some "pros", hahaha, gayer than unpeeling a banana with your mouth.

This is not an environment where everyone is comfortable. By restricting certain exercises and limiting free weights and certain machines, they are discriminating against serious lifters, athletes and many regular lifters who may do some of these exercises. "Judgement free Zone"....sounds like they have done a lot of Judging with members kicked out every other week nationwide.
I keep thinking about the guy who worked out at PF and was doing heavy lateral raises, without grunting or dropping weights and had the f'n Lunk alarm sounded on him cause some employee felt he was intimidating. Besides being a pussy thing to do... THAT IS DISCRIMINATION!
A great idea would be to have a free weight room with extra floor matting and an area where the athletes and real lifters feel "comfortable".
Spread the word so they lighten their policies or close.

I would love for 60 minutes to have a segment on them. I'm sure it wiould be more negative than positive

No Deadlifting. WTF! Deads have to be the single best exercise for overall size and strength. I would much rather assay someones strength by their pull rather than their bench. Deadlifting is the true measure of a mans strength and they outlaw it. What's next? No gum?

They recently opened two here in El Paso TX. and out of curiosity me and by fellow compadres went to see what the big commotion was about. Besides its like 10$ down 10$ a month or some shit like that. So we get there there is tons of people. You could swear your in a bar. Most of them of wife's with nothing to do and young teenage boys that cant affords a membership to another chain of gym who bought out gold here a few years ago called Extreme Fitness. There was about 100 diffrent machines, no squat racks , two bench presses, and the shocker the heaviest set of dumbbells were 75 fucking pounds. Extreme Fitness although pricey does have seven locations threwout the city and there starting to open a basket ball court in every single gym indoor and outdoor. The dumbells go up to 150 in most all of them and a few have them to 175. And big strong mother fuckers workout with hot dumb college chicks its great

I think you make an excellent point. In the end it all comes down to money. If this "judgement free" thing helps them make loads of dough, other gyms may follow suit. Before long, real gyms will be very difficult to find if this kind of thing happens.

well, I hope not. I wouldn't call my gym pure Hardcore, but everyone in management lifts. it's one of my favorite gold's. we have two personal trainers that compete and the others are all meat heads. I don't think my gym will ever comply to any changes similar to planet (queers) fitness

"A comfortable, diverse, judgment-free zone?"
If they don't encourage hardcore bodybuilders there (the extreme end of the weight-training spectrum) then how is that being diverse?
Comfortable? It's a gym you fags, not a country-club.
Judgement-free? Yeah, see how they judge you when you don't cough up their rip-off rates eevry month.

I hope you guys are aware that Planet Fitness has been around for over a decade now and they are getting huge within the last 3 years...By the way, I know of facilities that have tried the separate "hardcore" area in the gym and the bodybuilders and powerlifters would always end up hanging out doing their workouts in the "fitness" area because the women were in there...Go figure lol...
