I see 240 and a few others are approaching 20,000 posts. But has anyone got 20,000?
-
I'm just nearing 10,000 now, and they are nearing 20000

Didn't 240 have 20,000 posts when he was 240 or Bust? He easily has 30,000 cumulative posts.
-
no idea but i've suggested that after 10 000 posts you should retire, or rather be forced to retire
i will do so myself
-
You guys have any idea how sad that is?... 20,000 posts on a message board.. that says a lot about your social life.. Wow..

HOLY SHIT....240! Dude, I would tell you to 'get a life' but I know that won't work.
Over 18,000 posts? WTF do you do all day year? Forget I asked.
-

I asked him that today.
hey, deceptively flower has ZERO posts
-
hahahahaha, i haven't posted as Sarcasm in almost a month and i'm still number 5.

on another board i post at, everyone's post count was so high ( i think i was at around 4,000, and i was near the bottom of that list), that they changed everyone' spost count to infinity.
-
Jimmy/VikingPower/whatever name is his current/(Clubber Lang?) has waaaaaaay more than any of them. He just deletes his account when he gets up there, or Ron bans him. Some story, I'm not familiar with, but VP would have more than anyone here by many a post.
-
he melts down a lot
then just goes to other boards
-
hahahahaha, i haven't posted as Sarcasm in almost a month and i'm still number 5.
that's actually really, really sad, kid. and 240 probably has 30,000 or more. he had an enormous amount under his other handle, plus i think around 1000 under an entirely different name.
-
know any 240 gimmicks
-
Post average a day is more interesting really. That tells you who the real social chaps are.
(Though bare in mind 240 does use his account here to derive income).
-
10+ a day
-
I have well over 20,000 if you count the dozen or so times I've deleted my account, plus my posts from the "old" board.
G o a t b o y has been around here since 1999.
-
Why retire at 10000?? dont you like this place??
-
less time posting, more time working out
-
Why post so much in the first place?
-
been on here over two years
type quickly
recently hurt shoulder, can't even do cardio

Is that something to brag about if you've been a member for a short time? :-\

i haven't put on work pants in quite a few months now, and the wife's income now all goes right into savings. post post post post post...

Translation = I got fired from my Wal-Mart greeters position and now my wife wears the pants and I don't work. So I get to spend her money and post on Getbig all day.
-
hahah i thought my '24 days' online was getting up there, dan-0 has over 150 days!!!
relatively speaking this is nothing though, ive seen other boards where 30,000+ posts was nothing special.

wanna give me a free website :)

I can't remember what happened around 2k3 but there aren't really any members I have seen with join dates earlier than april 2003. Even Ron's account comes from then. I think I remember the account I was using before rocket and that has around march/april 2k3 aswell. Too long ago to remember, perhaps that was when SMF came in.
Edit: according to achive.org it looks as if smf was around jan/feb 2003

You're so full of shit. Massive G, is the top poster there, and he just hit 20k. Far far from 100k as you cite. ???

hahah i thought my '24 days' online was getting up there, dan-0 has over 150 days!!!
i've got over five days and i can tell you over four days of that is the fact that i use firefox, so i'll leave getbig on one tab that sits there for hours at a time even when i'm not in the house. online time hardly means anything.
-
240 will be the first to reach that number- hes spent numerous days on getbig-lol plus he had an opld account so technically that fcker has like 30,000 posts plus gimmick account posts.
-
no- but im going for it tonight Im tweaked up and ready to post-wish me luck-lol
-
Do you automatically get posts added to your count the longer you've been here? I've probably made maybe 70posts in total and for some reason I got around 471?

There is a misconception here that when you've finished "downloading" a page on getbig that mystical contact is still happening behind the scenes. A browser inteprets code for a page and then displays it. Very few pages run background applets to maintain connections and you wouldn't do it on a forum because it would cost you a lot of server power to do so (1000 concurrent connections refreshing logins - I think not ::)).
Firefox doesn't reload getbig (getbig does not request automatic reloads) or as far as I know make any sustaining contact to getbig when it is idle so that theory is probably false.
Just to give you an idea - for the entire time I've used getbig it has been on firefox (and its previous name) and I have been mostly unemployed during that time with getbig loaded. My online time doesn't touch a lot of people here.
As I've said several times here, the time online function is almost certainly an amount of time incremented onto your time online everytime you refresh a page (that is, everytime you refresh one and a login is performed). The reason I say this is because the system tracks how many people are online at one time which is actually just how many people have logged in in the last 30/60 mins.
So if you check getbig every 30 mins to 1 hour you will get a huge time online figure. But its not accurate atall.

I joined in May 2004 but have yet to reach 1000 posts. But then, I have a life...

Tell us about your life, I'd like to hear whether you truly do have something that is all that impressive. Its possible but more than likely what you really are is a slave to your job and average wife/gf with not much time for anything else. Lots of people claim they have a life. I could claim that now, I'm employed and apparently I now I have a life but the truth is all I have is less time :)
-
fyuck....i feel liie barfing......party tonight...i want to enter mr getbig 2007 but i drink once a week...dont know if ill have te dicipline...ugghhh..im fucked up

OMG, i gotta get a life. I never logout does that make me stay online all the time. Cause I basically just leave the window open while I work or do something else. I wish I could get back those 75 days.

No offense 240,but I have a very different definition of the word "work" than you do. ;)

Let me summarise what I said in that novel I just posted.
If you leave the window open, getbig is not communicating with your browser, absolutely nothing is happening in the background. Getbig only talks to your computer when you ask it to give you a page or a thread.

i am the administrator.
hahahaha, that's cool, i tried it!
Peace

I wish I could get back those 75 days.
you would probably just waste them anyways

i had a feeling that's what was going on, rocket. so if i make a post on here, then leave the page open and come back six hours later, when i refresh that's going to add 6 hours onto my online time, right?

IF I understood him correctly..NO.

it looked like he was saying that it takes the time you logged in and then increments it based on your refresh. i only ask because my online shot up from about 19 hours to over five days in what seemed like about five days, but i sure as hell haven't been just sitting here reading the board nonstop for that long.
-
Based on my average daily post count on my current account, multiplied by 365, multiplied by the 8 years I've been posting here, I have 28,791 posts! :o
Worship me, bitches! >:(

Its possible thats what it is but what I actually meant that I believe it adds 30 or 60 minutes on to your online time every time you log in. Of course it doesn't add more if you've already been credited for those minutes. But theoretically the time online would increase the most if you regularly checked getbig every 30/60 mins.
So in your case you log in at a time, get 30/60 mins added and then 6 hours later you do the same, you get another 30/60 minutes.
The value of the amount of minutes that are added on is almost certainly directly the same value that is used to calculate "most users online" which is somewhat of a bs concept as there has never been 1000 concurrent people browsing the board.. only 1000 people active in a certain timeframe.
-
perhaps you are credited 30 seconds for every 'refresh' action. That is my estimate - that it adds a # of seconds every time a page is opened or you F5

I sincerly doubt that. Consider that that requires multiple calculations every refresh. On a high volume board that would kill it.
As far as I could tell from the SMF board (the actual support board) I am correct.
