Do you ever think to yourself that with the amount of time bodybuilding takes out of your life you may have been further on in your career, making money, other interests etc? ???

Yeah, just ask Arnold...If he wouldn't have spent soo much time bodybuilding he would be way more successful than he already is hands down...LoL.... ::)

I stopped playing baseball for weight training right before highschool....I still have a great arm and can catch anything in the outfield...I never could hit though...my strategy when I was a kid was to step into everything get on base for being hit and then steal 2nd, 3rd and sometimes home. It worked until I was about 13 then it hurt to damn much cause kids started throwing about 70....so who knows? I probably could have been alot better had I taken it more seriously but I would rather be doing curls in my basement.

That's true. We're all just Arnolds in the making. Hang in there.

It all depends if you let it hold you back. A lot of people with careers need to learn to seperate the two. When I go to work I were my dress pants with shirt and tie. I keep the conversations strickly on business (except when I play on here throught the day...God knows it keeps my sane and stress free) and I steer clear of wearing clothes that make me look bigger or less professional at work.

I believe it could have held me back to some extent - over the years I became obsessed with holding onto muscle mass and so I simply wouldn't do anything remotely stressful or physical as I needed all my energy for the gym.
Basically I took mundane boring jobs like security and door work as those were the jobs which demanded the least amount of physical exertion. Even today I work in an office sitting on my butt all day where I've got access to a fridge and microwave for my meals.
If I didn't bodybuild I would have put my energy into doing other things (I don't know what) but nonetheless I would have given these things 110% of my time and effort and so I probably would be more successful and richer in other areas of my life.
Whenever I tske a break from bodybuilding I also accomplish so much more - getting stuff done around the house and going new places and experiencing new things. You can't do that when you're tied to the gym or awaiting your next meal.

Very good point and an excellent post. That just goes to show you how much of a lifestyle it is that we bbdr's lead. It certainly is not easy and can be time consuming. I agree with you on the getting stuff around the house done and overall accomplishing more.

I often think of how fat and weak I'd be if I didn't bodybuild. When bodybuilding cuts time in my schedule to deeply, I just put enough tension on my muscles and enough time to maintain.
Also, thats why I try to train everyday, cause making money and life in general throws you inadvertant day's off.
