We didn't bypass all of Africa--
Libya successfully gave up a WMD program because of Anglo-American negotiations. (39 billion barrels of oil)
We provide $2Billion in economic aid to Egypt (3 billion barrels)
We support Algeria (11 billion barrels, 2nd largest natural gas reserves in the world)
We did bypass Sub-Saharan Africa but I think that is due to the fallout from the Mogadishu debacle. (And probably because they were viewed as unimportant. :'(
Pipelines already exist in Iraq to transport oil to Basra-- only problem is we will be repairing them for the next ten years...
Realize there is already a pipeline that transports Caspian oil: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/5175676.stm. I don't think there is a need or a desire to build another pipeline linking Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Well jackass I was a double major in school. Ur tax dollars will fund my Masters. I have been in charge of over 300 people in several commands. Make way to much money for what I do and look to make a great living once I retire with a full pension at 40 years old. Who's the dumbass. I would say u should shut up and continue to pay my salary. The reason that the Coalition went to war in Iraq is because of the UN resolution violations. Saddam kept the weapons inspectors out. I would bet most of his weapons left the country the day America invaded.
It is always ironic to me that people bitch about the US, but when they need something they are always the first country to be called upon.
Why the heck aren't the colonial nations taking care of the disaster they left in Africa. Where is the Belgium money for Rwanda, or the French money and help for Sierra Lyone. These countries are worse then Afghanistan, yet they still look for America to bail them out because their former colonial masters screwed them over. It is pathetic. Yet America still helps out.
How about donations for the Middle East, The single biggest donor to the whole region is the US. Where is the EU, China, Iran or even the UN.
