If a guy gets hurt in a UFC fight to the point where he needs surgery, does the UFC pick up the tab?

I'm pretty sure the UFC covers the fighters medical expenses.
-
yes they do. atleast thats one thing they do right

Some (not all) promoters have insurance policies covering fighter injury. I'd certainly hope Zuffa does it...

One of the selling points of the IFL is health insurance. I know of a fighter who was hurt pretty bad and had no insurance. He was SOL.

I think any fighter who gets hurt during a sanctioned event is covered by insurance. I think that is a law. EVen the IFBB has that. The competitor is covered even during travel to the event. The NPC has it also. The UFC and others are covered under the Nevada State Athletic Commission and I would think an insurance policy would have to be in place.

Every fighter should be obliged to have an insurance. My opinion! In MMA fights everything can happen, people should be prepared.

I googled it and found out nothing, some people say they are covered and some people say they aren't, same as this thread...
