Title: Dressing up babies...
Post by: Laura Lee on December 01, 2006, 06:45:20 PM
Ok, I couldn't find the thread Stella started on my New Baby, so I had to make a new one.  Unfortunately Flower doesn't condone dressing up dogs for fun, but this little tee was the CUTEST!!!

Just a couple more.   ;D

See Flower...he loves his new tee.  He's smiling in the last picture!  :D

I think Rocky needs a nice Swarovski cystal collar to go with that T-shirt

Check out the doggie treats, ...they almost had even ME salivating.  :P

For a second I initially thought this was gonna be an Anne Geddes tribute thread or something. {lol}

keep in mind, those are Canuck dollars so you're probably looking at maybe only 80% of the listed prices.

PB

Come on PB...their fur just doesn't cut it anymore!!   ;D

These little dogs are so adorable!! I would be so afraid that I would step on them, or squish them.

This is more my style.  As soon as Milania gets big enough...we are going to take some photos similar to this with Chris Cook's mastiffs.  Its the cutest thing I have ever seen.

Tasha, Flower made a thread w/a story on the X for that Mastiff and baby sequence awhile back.  It was hilarious...I'll try to find it.

I found the pics on the site www.gentlegiantsrescue.c om

Bob and I are planning on rescuing a giant in about a year, once the baby gets a little older.  If it were up to me...we would have had one a long time ago.  I think they are the most beautiful dogs!

How do you get your dogs to sit there while you dress them up?  And how do you get them to lay in the bed covered up like humans?  Are they sleeping and you are just really precise??

wow flower.... i've just spent the last 4 hours reading horror stories about this place.  i am now going to see exactly what has been done with their establishment.  i have a friend that works in the LA news and broadcasting.  She happens to be a huge dog lover and a rescuer herself.  I'm sure she would bury these people if they are still doing this!!  This is ridiculous!

I understand these poor peoples stories of losing thousands of dollars but still not returning the dogs due to the horrible conditions.  And these crazy "rescuers" just take the money and run!!

Bob just spent months looking for the 1960's batman series...and found it.  i'm watching "robin" in disgust!!

Adorable pic flower!!

We are only about 90 miles from this place....I am so interested in going and seeing what they are about.  I hate that they are getting positive exposure on Animal Planet and other broadcasts for the simple reason that its "Robin's" business.  Its not fair to the alleged 80+ animals they have on their property.  There are sooooo many great rescue shelters here in SoCal...these people are taking their spotlight due to a bit of stardom from the 60's.  Thats just how it works here in LA!!

I'm going to do the research on the web, and the court records....I'll see whats been going on with them lately.

I'll pm you with any juicy details...

Did you find this site:

  http://www.gentlegiantnews.com/

I feel bad for the dogs they "rescue" then that get so mistreated and traumatized that adopters end up putting them down or sending them to another rescue.  They might have been very good adoptees if they were in a better rescue.

     >:(

Yes, please let me know if you hear anything.

From what i've read so far...it seems as though these people meant well in the beginning.  But as time went buy and the money started rolling in, they got greedy.  I just cant believe the stories of the conditions of THEIR own living conditions.  They have a young daughter to care for, as well as their many other animals.  I think it is just a bad situation all around and they should be shut down.

I thought I heard something more recent on them?    If you guys are close to them and ever go check it out, let me know what you find out.

meanwhile...........here is Tad telling Addie a secret:

Here's Rocky playing with his best friend Dallas (female).

Why is it that little dogs have no fear of monster dogs?  Dallas is a HUGE Pit (friendly as can be, beautiful in heart) and Rocky didn't seem at all intimidated by her size.

Dogs have no idea of the space they take up!  They have no idea of how big or small they are.

Cheri...

although you have the cutest chi-chi pup i have ever laid my eyes on....

why oh why must you put all that junk on him.  its just for pics, right?  i've been shopping in LA alot lately for christmas and I see these little pocket dogs with all of this shit on them (way more than rocky) and they look MISERABLE!!  They look at you with these sad eyes saying "please save me".  These dogs probably could not walk because they have never been put down!!  I feel so bad for them.  These girls are trying to treat them like babies.

I know you are not like this, Cheri, but I just need to rant.  I wish people would let these little guys be dogs.

"T"  I got those shoes for when the pavement gets hot here in South Florida.  It's not so bad right now, but summer time it will burn his little feet and he loves going for walks with us and we walk 2 miles...that's a lot of hot pavement for bare footies.  :)

I think one of my friends is getting Tad a shirt or something for Xmas, she asked what size he is.

Maybe it'll say "bait" on it and he can wear it when I walk him with one of the big dogs.        :-X

ROFLMAO.  That is too much!!

I know, I know...it makes sense.  I hope he can get used to them.  I just needed to rant.  If you yell at the stupid girls here in LA, they just look at you like you have 3 heads.  These girls put jewels, sweaters, freakin leg warmers, and other bull shit on these poor little dogs.  Then...on top of that...they carry them EVERYWHERE!!  They never put them down to walk or smell or do dog things.  Their little faces are so pitiful...I want to take them all home and let them play in my backyard...LIKE A DOG!!!

That is really funny!!  I would want to let them run around as well.  Do they take their doggies to the gym?  In Australia we have doggy cafes, where you can take your dog.  You have coffee with your friends and the doggies socialise and have special little biscuits and drinks and stuff.  I dont go their though cos I have staffordshire bull terriers and they would eat all the little fluffy doggies.
