Simple solution = Wear headphones
You try to be a strong man. Yet, all it takes is some christian music, and you will throw in teh towel.
;)
Yeah.
A Radio, might be to bulky, just invest in a ipod shuffle, or that new shuffle nano(?)
Download your own songs, it will be worth it.
Solution? Find another gym... ANYTHING is better than Golds... there have been so many complaints against those bastards for their business practices its a joke. They are about as close to planet fitness as they come. I got screwed out of alot of money when I was with them... What used to be a great gym franchise has turned into a bunch of corporate rapists that pillage people for money:)
why oh why does the golds music channel play such crap music?
is it on purpose that yall play mostly hipcrap and soft rock..soo people fall asleep and dont wear down the equiptment? is that it?
plez do answer..i go to the one in Greenbelt MD and the music sucks...i mean i'm seriously considering balys..at least they play rock sometimes.."golds gym....fagging up America 1 trainer at a time" <your new motto> :)
invest in ana ipod.... my only advice :-\
i'm thinking about it...how flimsy are they? i'm not one to listen to music 24/7 so didn't really see the need for one before..only thing is..they look like 1 good bang and they'd break....
yanno it be so much easier if gyms layed better music..i once did a paper on frentic music (as the journals called it) and ..agressive music vervus mello music..agreesive music HAS been shown to improve exercise performance...
i simply CAN NOT work out wihtout my iPod... so for me (being that i use it daily), it's worth it. I have a nano... i think it cost me like $200... maybe less... i don't really remember... and after a year or so i haven't borken it yet. Best thing is you can create your own playlists and listen to whatever you want... AND less people try to talk to you and distract you because they see you got headphones on... ;D
why oh why does the golds music channel play such crap music?
Pretty sure Ipod nanos are around 250$, and you can get a good enough mp3 player for about 30$ these days. And I've seen those small FM players in dollar stores.
you're a blondie and you haven't broken it yet! :P
yanno..maybe i'll go ahead and get one! :)
thanx !

the music at my Gold's is provided by clubcom.com. on their website you can vote for the type of music to play. since few people go to the website, a single vote can have a huge influence on what's played. at my gym, they suddenly started playing hard core heavy metal. doesn't exactly fit the demographics. probably due to a single vote.
They should probably play exactly what you want, that would solve everything right?
Not flimsy at all I have the Ipod shuffle and I just sling it around my neck and it has not given me any problems or sometimes I use the arm collar. But so far I've had it for 2 years no problems, Ive only broken my headphone extension plug, and that was because it got looped around the hammer strength bench when I was doing rows.cool..thanx for the info bro...thats what i ws concerned about cause they look flimsy...
I use this thing to lay in the tanning booth as well.
Pantrea...metallica... [you were okay up to this point...] throw in some skidrow....[here you started sliding towards the cliff...] and good tekno like deep dish [here's where you flew clean off the cliff!]

^hope this helps
Gold's...hmmm. Isn't that the gym that was founded bu bodybuilders that now is only concerned with signing up people that will pay their dues every month while not showing up to put any wear and tear on the equipment? Yeah, that's the gym chain with mostly out of shape staff. Yeah, the Va Beach Gold's is the one that revoked my membership because I had the audacity to *gasp* call the manager an ass on an INTERNET DISCUSSION BOARD.
Yeah, Gold's Gym: "We're working our way toward being another Planet Fitness."
Joe Gold saw this coming, that's why he opened World. Alas, they're all being consumed by the pussy health club mentality.
RIP Joe Gold and his dream.
why oh why does the golds music channel play such crap music?Get an Ipod shuffle used on ebay for $30. They work great and hold like 200 songs. And whatever happened to the Capital Fitness gym down there in that area? That was a good gym.
