I like them because they are low carb and the flavored one taste pretty good imo. They fill you up if you are hungry and relieve the bland nature of a diet.

I go for the white cheddar and popcorn ones. Try the white cheddar ones out. They taste like smartfood.

No problem, the trick to rice cakes is to get fresh ones just put  out on the shelves. Those rice cakes tend to be "fresh".  Hard to explain. The texture of the fresh ones is much better.

Butter popcorn and chedder will do you right. Apple cinnamon is also good if you like sweeter foods!

The reason they are good is because they are a fast digesting high glycemic carb. They get into your blood stream fast.  People should eat them after training.

Ditto.  That is the only bodybuilding application I'm aware of.  Otherwise, they're thinly-disguised junk food.

I wouldn't call themjunk food. They are a savior when your dieting and they come in hady eating cottage cheese or anything lse that you would normally use a chip for. 1 cake has, what 40 calories or something. If you are doing legs and think your going to puke it also alsmost immediately takes the feeling away, atleast for me and a couple of other people that have tried it. On another note I actually let them get alittle stale if I am doing a suicide diet because then you have no desire to eat anymore than a half. I know I know masocistic me... ;D

Agree to disagree.  I define junk as having little or no nutritional value, either by way of protein, complex carbs, vitamins, minerals, etc. Outside of the pwo context, rice cakes meet the above definition. The high GI rating provokes an insulin response which is good for pwo purposes but contrary to your post, not for dieting purposes.  However, that's just my opinion.

Peanut butter makes anything taste good!  ;D

Aren't rice cakes kind of processed?

From Quaker:

A rice cake is formed when heat and pressure are added to the grain causing it to expand abruptly. A portion of grain is set onto a round, metal pan—like a mini baking pan. As a hot cylinder presses down onto the pan, sizzling pressure is released. The heat is so intense that after only a few seconds, the grain makes a loud popping noise as it bursts. This process causes the grains to 'pop' and interweave. There are no oils, additives or binding ingredients used during this process. The flavoring is applied to the cake after it is formed.

Isn't that incidentally how styrofoam is made ?!
