Two words of advice for your friend, coming from a a former GM and Corporate Sales Manager; "GET OUT!"

Please explain.
Basically he wanted to mention his achievements to you.

good for your friend. Too bad its a shit gym. At least get round plates in there so you can deadlift.
-
Get that boy into real estate. Then get into selling high end homes. He could also look into selling private jets and yachts. High end exotics is also a great gig for people with very good sales skills.
-
Good gym. All the plates are round...weird comment. Why can't you dead w/ any shaped plates? Doesn't matter about shape. I deadlift at least 1x/week.
Guess so, he never explained himself. However, Faraz and I did talk about putting his salesman skills to better use - selling cars or something of higher ticket value. Only prob is he's only like 20 and just starting, and still in school. So he has to start at the bottom. But this looks excellent on his resume.
Can you say culture of corruption? The paradigm of gross over health is not what it is supposed to be about. The tactics necessary to be one of the top grossers made my stomach turn. They will never go public.

Yea don't you hate it about those other plates. For some reason they won't let you deadlift them. I hate when that happens ???
-
how can you be corrupt selling gym memberships?
here is the cardio, here is the strength equipment, this is the price.... you wanna join or what?
well done to the kid I say...

All of the 24 hour fitness gms by me have those weird octagon shaped plates. Its just awkward when you do deads or anything from the floor with those.

Wrong... Little sales skills are needed to sell big ticket items like that because 99% of the people who step in the front door will #1 .have the credit/income to make a purchase. #2 Already have the intent to make the purchase.
You dont really have to "sell" them. Its more helping the decide which one.
