There is a guy in the gym here that does it EXACTLY like that.  He does 405 like that and 315.  Everyone looks at him weird.

Kieth you could probably do 700 pounds like that for a couple of reps!

Fisrt off I would have no idea how to bench like that.  I have never arch and is one reason whyI lift my feet off the ground most of the time with heavy weight.  I just one of the guys I train with look at the video and he immediately pointed out the guy I was talking about.  He just started laughing.  We had a guy at the original World Gym named Bugsy.  He was Tony Nowak best friend I think.  Tony was the guy peeling the orange in Pumping Iron.  Bugsy used to arch his back so high guys would fuck with him and try to crawl under him while he was benching.  He did it one day where he pulled something so bad they had to call the paramedics or fire department.

exactly, that is the rules of powerlifting and the smart powerlifters will do everything they can to make sure that bar moves the least distance possible.
