Back in the day I used to be pretty bad ass on Street fighter 2, I could beat it with Ken, Ryu, Gulie, Chun-li, Blanka and Zangief...I might have beaten it with E-Honda, I don't really remember. I could play forever, I played up until they introduced Street fighter 2 Alpha and beat that with KEn and Ryu, I never really got into the new characters.
Anyway I'm in Costco the other day and what do I see? A stand up video game that has about 15 games loaded up on it and one of them is Street Fighter 2. I started playing and it was awsome, I didn't do as well as I used to but I could feel the addiction starting again, what a great fun game!
any other SF2 Fans out there?

Blanka was sick! Ginger with green skin? Just doesn't get any more extreme mother fuckers! People used to be one move wonders on this game... e.g. blankas electric shit and that slappy hands shit from the sumo.

haha I remember every lunch time during highschool I would sneak out to blockbuster and play that game! It was my favourite!!

in the original sF he was the last guy you would fight, very hard to beat. You could be him in all the following versions, I never tried to beat the game using him, I always like being Ryu or Ken and if someone would beat me I'd usually be able to crush them with Chun li. I used to play this game every night for hours at 7-11, once I left my GF's house, she was still in HS I'd go right to 7-11 and dominate.

SF2 was amazing. Spent a lot of time playing that on Sega or w/e it was when I was younger. Think my favorite was probably Guile.

gulie was one of the last guys I learned how to use and beat the game with. Wasn't his "story" at the end that he was trying to avenge a friend of his that M.Bison killed?

Blanka was my favorite.
M. Bison was so damn cheap, I used to get so pissed at him that I smashed SEVERAL super nintendo controllers from his many repeated thrashings of me. I was the king of SF II meltdowns.

Yeah, I was watching SF the animated movie on Encore a couple weeks ago and Bison ends up killing his Commando buddy with his "PSYCHO" powers.

I just started watching that on youtube..they make dahlisam look like a total bad ass.

I loved that game and it was one of the few video games i was ever really into. I think street fighter alpha was the best of all of them though. I was good with everyone but best with Ryu. I think modern video games suck compared to games like this though. Sure, the 3-D environment is fun, but it takes away from the forced fighting in old side scroller games. Modern video games are all lame for that matter. Every stopped getting better after Saturn, PS1 and 64... since then, its all been crap.

I never got into being the new characters from alpha but I beat it a couple of times with ryu and Ken...I tried to beat it with She-long...the bruce lee type character but I don't think I ever did...

The greatest game of all time. Over a decade later and i still play it. Ken is my favourite, even though hes a yank. I like his home stage and his home music the best as well. I have finally mastered Zangeif's spinning piledriver and can do it at will.
SF2 is a true test of skill, not like all these new fangled beat em ups like dead or alive where even a moron can bash the buttons and get a victory. SF2 requires concentration, tactics and the ruthless determination of a born warrior. Yes i'm sad.
The best variation of SF2 is Capcom vs SNK2EO on the xbox.

the only guy form the original I could not get a handle on was the indian dude dahlisam or however you spell it. I beat it with most everyone from what i remember except him. the easiest guy to lay a whooping on was Balrag the Mike tyson kinda character, there's 2 easy perfects if you do it right, loved fighting Vega especially with Chun-Li cause you could just jump around like an idiot and it would be a blast. I got to Sagat the other day and it would probably take me a while to re-learn how to beat him.

I hated the turbo version, no fun at all.

right i wasnt really feeling it. I did like championship edition because you were able to block in mid air. also you can start yout hurricane kick in mid air. Turbo was a bit fast for the kid
