That's what happens with whey protein.
Switch to casein or egg.
Directly after workout, take BCAA and amino acids.

If anything, protein, in whatever form, should help moderate and stabilize blood sugar.

Artificial sweeteners (ie: acesulfame) can illicit an insulin response in some people. Maybe you're one of them.

what are you mixing you whey with? If anything it helps promote noraml sugar levels and glucose uptake. I'm diabetic and it doesn't increase my levels at all. are you eating anything with it? or before. when are you checking your suagr levels?

i used to mix it with milk and i thought thats was why it was so high then i tried water and it didnt make much of a difference! most of my protein intake comes from shakes. i really appreciate all the replies! and migs what kind of protein do u use?

ON 100% gold standard whey. Honestly i dont see how the protein itself would increase your BG. Are you wating anything prior to this? Any other carbs, fruit etc?

Try using unflavoured whey, shouldnt have anything other than protein in it, no flavours or colours. You can often buy it in bulk and its much cheaper. Dont know where to get it from in the US though in the UK I use
