Title: Is your gym expensive?
Post by: rccs on December 15, 2006, 08:07:46 AM
How much do you guys pay per month at your gym? I pay 34 Eur, but the gym is missing some weight...
How much do you pay for a protein shake at your gym? 1 Eur.
And please say the country/city, just to make a good comparison. Portugal / Porto

25 pounds sterling, which is about 38 yoyos or 50 dollars. Gym is in Northern Ireland.

2 pounds for a protein shake I think never buy them.

Gym is more designed for women, weight loss and soccer/GAA players, needs more dumbells.

My gym in Charlotte NC just stared a special.  Buy one year in advance and get a second year for free.  The one year fee os $249.  So, that comes to about $10.37 a month.

I pay $20 bucks a month for a pure steel gym.  This Athletic club near it or as I like to call it "Daycare for adults"  Wants $1250 down and $125 a month.  The worst part is they are packed.  The weight area is pathetic so I guess they just go for the wine tasting. Yes they have wine tasting.  Gay place altogether

You should watch out for specials. I went to the tanning salon with my lil sis and they guy was giving away packages with a whole lot of minutes. One was 60 other one was 80. So here she tries to pay with her debit but he couldn't take it so he sent us to a bank machine. We come back and my sister decides to take the 80$ after the persuasion of the dick and against my advice, CASH. Needless to say I only spent maybe 15minutes their and next time I came back they closed down the salon with obviously no information on where to reach the loser.

33/month - and it's paid monthly not all up front which I like.  I'm not certain how that converts to yoyos, slinkies, or rubix cubes though.

I paid about $30 a month at a local Worlds gym. There is another gym that just opened which is smaller than worlds, wants over $100 a month, and like a $200 startup fee. It's some kind of training place for professional athletes that regular people can go. What's funny is a lot of people go there and pay that kind of money, just because it's a status thing.
I say "paid" because I no longer go to Worlds, I went and got one of these - http://www.bodysolid.com/Item.aspx?ItemID=249&ItemLabel=SBL460P4%3a+Body-Solid+Leverage+Gym# (http://www.bodysolid.com/Item.aspx?ItemID=249&ItemLabel=SBL460P4%3a+Body-Solid+Leverage+Gym#)
With my second business, new house, and kids, I was having a hard time finding time to get to the gym so I got one of those. I'm still going to sign up for a month here and there, just so I keep my muscles stimulated with new movements.

Your gym has child care? That is new to me, but I bet it is pretty confortable to you! Almost no excuses to skip training  ;)

Ouch!

I used to train at the Y and it is very expensive. 500-600$ a year. For a day pass it costs 20$!!!!! ??? messed up huh? My mother goes there because they have a nice swimming pool. My friends go there but get in for free by volunteering 3hours a week.

Me I maned up and moved on to the hardcore gym 10 min walk from my house with tons of equipment for 250$ per year.

My gym is expensive as shit. There is no space in this city anymore. I pay more so I do not have to take the train to the gym. I do not bring my car into the city. It is pointless.

i pay about 30$/month for my gym. Its pretty small but has all I need, or almost all i need. its filled with ppl who train for years and look the same every single year with no progress whatsoever hitting on chicks instead of training. this leaves lots of equipment empty for me to use. 8)

I pay 20.00 for a fitness center, lot of life fitness and hammer strength machines etc.  I pay 30.00 for my other Gym which just has heavy dumbells and lots of benches.  I split my workouts between both gyms, heavy in one light in the other.

$0 a month. I use the military's "fitness center" at Little Rock Air Force Base, ironically not located in Little Rock, Arkansas.
